getting shot tomorrow | Arthritis Information

I'm  getting the H1N1 flu shot, tomorrow....I Will have someone, let you know  if it kills me....LOL.  Sorry...So much has happen in our lifes the last 3 years, now the Doctors are telling me I'm ok.  Can't help but think it's the calm before the storm.  Why am I going to 11 different kinds of Doctors, if I'm ok.  Not that I'm complaining about feeling pretty good after a year and half of fighting cancer.  ( I show no sign of cancer now).  The Ra has taken a back seat to everything else, which Ra doc. said the cancer treatment would help my RA.  My husband did fall Sun. and I think he broke his hand and wrist,  still can't get the Doctor to return call.  On my foot, it took them over 2 weeks to make up their mind that it was broken in 4 places.(about 4 years ago) I'll get off here and stop complaining, you all have a great day. thanks for listening.Good luck with the shot! Great news that you are cancer free and the RA is being quiet! What's wrong with that doctor over there? Can you get your husband to go to the ER for a look? Rusty - I don't think mouthing off about all yo have been through is forbidden on this forum....at least I hope not. I think we are here to offer support and understanding to others dealing with this horrible disease and the stresses of the medical system. I wish you luck with the shot tomorrow. At least you can get one! I have to wait until Kaiser gets their supply out here and lifts their priority lists so us oldies can get one. Let us know how it goes!I got mine today Rusty, and I'm happy to report that I'm still alive. In 20 mins I'll be taking my enbrel shot. According to the experts, this won't kill me either. It doesn't seem like a good idea to get a vaccine and then immediately supress your immune system, but what do I know?
Well, I'd better be alive in the morning because I'm in charge of the 3rd grade Halloween party! My death wouldn't be nearly as sad as the lack of carmel apples... leila:  feel pretty strong about thinking the kids will get there carmel apples tomorrow. I was told that any serious reactions happen with in the first few minutes to the first few hours. I know everyone is different. I had swelling from my seasonal flu shot. None at all from the H1N1. Made me wonder if I had already had H1N1?

Rusty: I hope all is well as the doctors say. Best of luck with your shot.
Thanks you all, your the greatest, alway get a pick me upper when I post in here, just what I need from time to time.  I'm so glad Leila is still alive, LOL...maybe she'll sent me one of those candy apples.
I tkink the only reason I'm geting the shot is because of the cancer, my husband can't get one.  I'm getting it at the cancer center, they call me and told me I needed to come in and get it.  I think its not the cancer as much as the chemo and radiation, that stuff keep on giving for years.
How do you like Kaiser, Mary?  My grand-daugther says they don't want to treat children, just wait stuff out and see what happens. When it comes to her kids she wants it done 10 mins. ago.  Whem  it comes to kids I get in a hurry too.  Just wandering how they are with adults.
You all have a great night
I got the H1N1 vaccine two days ago and haven't had a lick of trouble.

No trouble here either, got mine on Monday along with my husband and children.  Although the kids still need one more dose.

Rusty, my very best wishes to you and to your husband. I too am thrilled that you are OK! Good news and certainly cause for a celebration on my part! Hello Rusty I am new to the message board but I wanted to say that the H1N1 has not given anyone I know a problem. How is your husband after his fall?
