He's home!!  My son got in from his Iraq deployment late last night.  Well really, very early this morning.  So now for the first time in a long time all my kids all my here in the US and I will see them in a couple of weeks.  It's been a loooong year and it seems like more than a year, but all is well now and I am a HAPPY mom

Thanks to all who remembered him in your thoughts and prayers.
Awww Linncn, that is wonderful. Now you can rest peacefully knowing he is not that far away...and safe.Such wonderful news!!  I'm so happy for you and your family!  What a celebration you all will be having!!I am so happy that your son is back on US soil.....

and that you can relax a little knowing he's home..

*hugs*   all your chicks in the nest, huh?
I can't wait to talk to him today and hear about his reunion with his wife and daughter, she only just turned 1.  She only knows him from video and skype.  I hope it didn't freak her out to see him in real life.  I guess that's a pretty typical response from young children. Oh yes Snow, there is a very big smile on  my face.  And thankful?  You bet, as anyone here who loves someone can certainly imagine.  He called me at 2:30 this morning while he was on the bus ride from the base they flew in to, to the base where he's stationed at.  So I got to talk to im for a good long time.  Now I just can't wait to hug him like crazyLyn, how wonderful!  Just reading your message gave me goose bumps.  So happy for all of you.....Huggin ya~~ Linncn
I am so happy for you and your family, this is going to be so wonderful for you. Im sure his little daughter will love her daddy and know who he is really soon xxx
Thanks for sharing your wonderful news.  So happy for you and your family!!!Fabulous news....How wonderful for you and your family! Yiiiipppppeeeee! Good new to begin my day with. YES!! WTB~ yes.  Both my sons live in the same NC town and we will go down there for Thanksgiving.  It's been a very long time since we were all in the same room together, with both of their depolyments and different leave times and so on.  And to make it even better, one of my DIL's is a chef!  :)    And then a few days after we get home from NC my son, the one who just got home, is coming up here for a week or so.  So I'll get more time with them, a whole week with my granddaughter.  I'm gonna love that.  I don't like being a long distance gramma.  I always thought I'd be that gramma that's a part of their grandkid's life, like where we really know each other.  Like my mom was with my kids.  That's tricky when they're so far away. Thanks everybody!  Your well wishes and thanks and happiness for my family is making this day even better.Thank you, Lin, for sharing such a joyous homecoming with us! What wonderful news to start the day.....I'm so happy for all of you and doubly happy that he's back in the U.S.A. safely.  Enjoy your time together.  LindyLinncn,

Lin - What wonderful news! I cannot imagine having one of my kids over in Iraq or Afghanistan! Not sure I could handle it. Congratulations to him for a job well done and to you for having such a strong son! And it sounds like you have two of them! Enjoy every minute with him and your granddaughter.I am so happy for you and all your family!  Homecomings always choke me up and this one is indeed special!  It feels so wonderful to hold a loved one tight after such a long, worrisome absence, so please, hug for all of us too!

Congratulations!!!

Yay!!!!!!!I talked to my son a couple of hours ago and everything went so well.  He said his little girl cried for about five minutes and then he gave her the "raspberries".  They did that to each other on Skype and she thought it was big fun.  Anyway, he said that when he did that, he could see it clicking for her, that this was her daddy, the fun guy that plays with her and reads her stories through the computer.  They've been having a ball together ever since.     He said it's like he never left. BRAVO!!!!

I have not posted on this site for so long. This is such GOOD news I wanted to share in your joy! I posted a few months back that my son chose to enlist in the Army. He is currently in the future soldier program. He leaves Feb 3, 2010 to Fort Benning for BCT. I never like to wish my life away...so let's say I am looking forward to the day I can declare "it finally happened"..."my son is home".

I can only imagine the joy, pride, and relief along with numerous other emotions that a mother carries when her child goes off into far parts of the world that are so dangerous and finally being released of all the anxiety upon his arrival back home to American soil...Gods Blessing to you and your family...and a Thank You to your son!

Best Wishes,
Lisa
