25 and Living with RA | Arthritis Information

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sarah and I was diagnosed with RA at 23. I had a sudden flare up and it started in my wrists and spread to every joint in my body. I dealt with this pain for about 6 months and then finally got it under control with Medications. I believe that my RA is in remission at this time. Thank GOd! However, I still have aches and pains and am dealing with heavy fatigue. I also can't sleep well which adds to my fatigue. I joined this forum so that I can get more help in understanding why I'm always soooo exhausted even when I rest. It's really hard sometimes dealing with this disease becuase no one in my daily life, other than my mom, can relate to the pain and fatigue that I deal with on a daily basis. Hopefully I can find some support here. If you are alos a young adult with RA and/or whose RA is in remission but still suffer from severe fatigue, I'd love to chat with you. Thanks for listening!

Hi Sarah, I am still just getting my head around what is going on with my body, but I am glad you have it under control now to some degree.  I think this site is gerat.  I just found it myself.   hi sarah, i'm andrea. i actually just found this site today and saw your post and thought i'd say hey. i'm 24 and have ra. i was diagnosed when i was 19, but still haven't found the right meds to fix me up yet. i've been on plaquenil, naprosyn, remicade, bextra, methotrexate, and now my rheumatologist is starting me on enbrel.
i feel tired all the time too.. really tired. my job is kind of fast paced and most of the people i work with don't know i have ra, so they expect me to be on 10 all the time. it's so exhausting. it seems like i'm always working for the weekends when i can at least relax a little.
anyway.. just thought i'd reply here.. i listed my yahoo messenger and my email is the same @yahoo.  it would be good to be able to talk with someone having the same issues as me, so drop a line sometime.

see ya around,
andrea
