Hand cramps | Arthritis Information

I have severe hand cramps. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it an RA thing? What do you take for it?

My rheumy prescribed quinine pills for me but there weren't covered by my insurance and were expensive; so I didn't get them.

My fingers cramp so bad and pain is terrible.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Susan; ask the dr for something else or ask if he has samples of the med for you to try to see if it will help. My rd gives me sample to try before having to go and purchase the script myself.. Ask him about lidoderm patches,what they are is patches that you can cut and place over the area that is in pain and then the med seeps through your skin and into the joints and muscle tissue. You wear them 12 hrs on 12 hrs off. You have to tell the dr you can not afford the med he has pescribed for you, don't be embarrassed, ask him if there is a generic or if there is a med he can put you on that is cheaper and will give the same effect for the pain. ps I do have have hand pain due to arthritis but the patches, naxporin,arava, and enbrel has helped to relieve alot of the pain.

My hands are acting up because I have been online typing moreso than usual the last few days.

Some manufacturers of medications will give you the medicine if you can't afford it. Contact the company directly and explain your situation. I have seen it work for people who needed meds for Alzhiemers ds. and heard of others as well. It doesnt hurt to ask.
