My son uses microsoft works word processor to type up his college work on. He has saves it  and puts it onto his memory stick apart from the last few weeks. He went to put that on last night and got the following message

this file may be in use by another application, the file format may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file maybe corrupt.
It opens his work up in what looks like a whole lot of symbols.

Not sure what is going on but he has to print his work out to hand in on wednesday....

can anyone suggest anything
sounds like his flash stick is corrupted. happened to me when i used mine in college computer...................His flash stick opens up everything he has saved ok, its just the last 3 weeks work that is saved to his documents and hasnt been downloaded to his stick
thanks for responding cowgirl.x
If I am reading this correctly the file/s are on your desktop computer.

It seems like the file is corruped.

Click on Computer
Right click on your hard drive and click on properties
The select tools
Click on check for errors

Depending on your operating system it will tell you to schedule a disk check. Say yes.

Then restart the computer and it will check your hard drive for errors

Hopefully this may solve the problem :)

Pincushion,

What's up with your nephew? Oh, that's right. He's probably still pretty busy working on that 1% proof you are still waiting on to prove that AA and IO are one and the same, right?

Lorster i have complained to to the sponsors but they wrote me an email to say web wiz is a free download. Then i went a step better and contacted Google as they sponsor loads of adds on here. I recieved a mail this afternoon and they are getting someone to contact me. My nephew is a computer whizz, he designs programs and builds computers and has the day off tomorrow so he is going to look into it for me. I have great faith in him as he sorted a website out ( also non moderated and getting bad posts) for a friend of his who has prostate problems.
I will let you know
take care

My nephew is in Borneo Lev. Where he and my daughter will both be on an orangutuan programme to help these wonderful animals....Pincushion,

Of course he is. I figured it was either saving the orangutuans or savingthe world from total destruction. You are so funny. So, I guess that means that we are going to have to wait even longer for that 1% of your proof that he is going to find by "legally" hacking into this forum? Well, we've already waited a year. And the orangutuans are important. You are so funny.

LEV
Hey Lev..just because you are a bitter twisted no gooder who has never seen the world, dont think that of everyone..my kids are very well travelled and help out at a lot of sanctuarys..My daughter spent 3 months last year on  a programme in Thailand           for tsunami relief that is still taking place today...you really need to get a lifeit does come across funny, pin......  can't help it..

Hey, I'm well travelled, I went to Africa to save the Rhinos and to Alaska to save the Polar Bears and to China to help out with the Pandas and one more...Koalas in Australia.  I'd say I'm very well travelled.  But so what?  What's the big deal with being well travelled?
