Hi guys, just thought I would fill you in, I had 6 shots yesterday as a diagnostic tool only, it was painful, as they only gave me twilight sedation, but very professional and comforting when they realised I could feel it that much they topped up the sedation, had a lovely private room, flat screen TV, it was a nice experience apart from the pain. They injected the L4 and L5 facet joints (RA), and the sacro-iliac joints (possibly AS). The pain specialist told me I would get relief for about an hour after the anasthetic wore off, and if that happened then it was a success, that tells him this is the area the main pain is coming from and in 6-8 weeks he will electrocute the nerves and that should last for 2 to 9 months approx. I had a lovely surprise and he was delighted, I have lost 5 kilos since I saw him last, and all I have been doing is gentle exercises in the pool, now the weather is great, walking 10-20 mins most days slowly and moving more around the house. I must admit my appetite hasn't been good so I have cut down on my intake naturally although I had reduced the size of my meals to try and help myself a little. PS Specialist said the good effects from yesterday may last a bit longer and if they do it is a bonus, well so far so good, had a bit of a rough night but feel good today.
My RA pain is sporadic but bearable most days and the fatigue again is the main problem, Liam is better thank God, so I am looking forward to a great Christmas.
Kind of beats Levs theory that I bring all the bad stuff on and deserve it. I have wonderful loving friends and family, a great Faith in God and do not agree with him for one minute. My life is wonderful Lev, despite the problems, every day is a blessing and I would never think like you do about people and their probs, I feel you are a very sad lonely old man, I hope God is kind to you.
Thanks guys for listening, I haven't been on much as the Shug thing really affected me, I am so unsure of what to believe anymore. God Bless all, and heres to a lovely Christmas for everyone and hope Santa brings pain relief to us all! Janie.
