Well,

I must say that it is somewhat bizarre. I'm not sure of what went on but I do miss some of Spelunker's postings. I didn't read alot of her stuff, but enjoyed her eloquence type posting. She seemd to be quite well educated. I still believe that Spelunker is/was deathly ill. Nobody has proven otherwise, so I still believe. Just because Pincushion told us of how her elderly grandmother was that had the same disease, means nothing to me. As a matter of fact, I read that that their disease could be absolutely different patient to patient, and affecting different areas and organs. I would however ask that Spelunker come back and explain some things. Even if we were punked, Kudos to her. It was enjoyable. I think that too many people take virtual life too far. I do however have a problem or at least suspicians about Pincushion's post on the "Hoax" thread:

I wasnt suprised as it was my thoughts for long time as it was a lot of other members.

All of a sudden Shug passed away and abazina comes on here but none of us are able to express our condolences and abazina talks like shug even has the same spelling mistakes...Abazina tells us that shugs name is Pope..so we have "Shug Pope" from Arizona...and joan ( abazina) her friend.

The medical centre havent heard of anyone they are treating or have been treating for amyloidosis and lo and behold i am sent this

Joan Pope ( joan being abazina's name ), Pope being shugs name

married to bob pope, bob being shugs husband and apparently joans husband

Both shug and joan use the same words to speak with, both use the same spelling mistakes

Vista sierra was a former home of joans and its where shug speaks of.

I will not be sending a donation for shugs memory until i know whats going on. It is up to you to make your own minds up on this and no doubt you will all think ive lost my mind but a least another 20 people have expressed this concern.

First off, Pincushion cannot blame anyone for not giving up personal pictures and the blame is laid at the feet of Pincushion and her fellow birds. The ones that spend all their time on the active users page tring to trap someone. second, Pincushion was sent a PM telling her that Spelunker was going to fake her death and that another person would come to the board and explain the fake death. To me, certainly someone close to Pincushion is involved or psychic. So who told Pincusion and how did that person know? Seems like all Pincushion would have to do is backtrack and she would have the answer that we all want to know. Third, what health centre gave Pincushion anyones personal health information. What centre was it Pincushion? I would like to call and see if they give me any personal information. Pincushion said she would apologize if she's wrong? That would be a new Pincushion. Fourth, who sent Pincushion all the information about Pope and Abazina? Seems like they are complicit if indeed there is a hoax.

A question that i have is why would Spelunker write a post in HTML format and save it and then post it to this forum when she could have just written it on the forum format. What if JHardy stands for John Hardy who has a wife named Lori? Oh, PhatGirl, if i can make a suggestion. You posted a link to a fallen Utah Trooper and implicated his Relation to a internet death fraud. Go and delete that link that you posted and delete any mention of it. I expect it from Joonie, she lives dangerously, but you seem much smarter than that. It's not likely that the Troopers family will ever see this but hey, who would think that the artist of a picture I posted would be contacted by a member here to try to grief me? Maybe the person writing the tribute is part of a "hoax" and maybe she isn't. Do you really want to take that chance?

None the less, I hope that some one will come and talk with us about it, even if we were punked. Oh, Babs, didn't you have Spelunkers email address? Have you tried contacting her if you don't mind me asking. Anyway, until I hear otherwise, I still believe Spelunker is Spelunker and is deathly ill or has passed away.

Some people prefer writing posts (especially longer posts) in their word processor and then pasting it into forum posting boxes, for various reasons (formatting, spell checking, past problems with long posts being lost due to connection glitches, etc). And if you don't copy and paste in plain text into a forum posting box that accepts HTML coding you can wind up with a post that "links" to a file on your local hard drive.

I, too, adored reading Shug's posts.. and her PMs were hysterically funny when she would let her hair down a little bit more than on site....

regarding the html posting... I wondered if she didn't keep a "file" with alot of data.. she was able to recollect things that others had said that I had long forgotten.. or would have had trouble keeping the stories alltogether straight.

I do know of one other cyber "friend" who does just that. (no one on this site) Keeps a file folder on her PC of each person she "knows" online.

regarding the losing posts, I do select and copy all posts before replying since I've lost loads of long postings to the failure of the internet...if I were a worse speller I would use a document program to spellcheck.

I have spell check plugin for firefox I feel a sense of loss and I sincerely miss her and her posts. I felt she was phony and rude to some ppl. I loved reading her post's. The first thing I did in the morning was read about Shug. If nothing else, it was a well written book. GG,

Exactly, reading her posts were like listening to a PBS t-v documentay with the very literate older British gentleman. Anyway Bodak, I hope she is still here. I tremember when she was trying to give joonie some advise and members and joonie accused her of attacking joonie and i had posted something, Spelunker PMed me kind of distraught that joonie and others thought that she was being "rude" when as she explained, she was trully trying to give joonie some ideas to help her with her life struggles and her esteem. I PMed Spelunker and told her to not worry about it. Joonie wasn't looking for advise. Joonie was too smart for advise. Like i said, I didn't read alot of Spelunkers posts but it seems to me that she went out of her way to be more than polite and non combative. That coming from me, a member that will go way out of my way to make sure someone knows I'm being rude.

You are fairly new and that's probably why you don't really know me. I have said it so many times before that i have real friends and relatives that love me. Sometimes I think they hurt more for my pain than i do. Altho I enjoy and respect some members here, they including you, are virtual. I take you all with a grain of salt and sometimes a Heineken mixed with V-8 and tabasco sauce. This is the internet. You don't know what's real and what's not real. See? And Tinkster, I think that your key word in all you said is this word, "supposedly". In other words, you just don't know. I have learned from what is real and true to not trust anything that Pincushion and her crew are pushing. She has an honesty rate of about 5%. My advise to you Tinkster is to keep in mind that this is a virtual world. Keep your love for those that you know are real and have a real love to return, the type you can see and feel. Or not. To me, it's all entertaining. Kudos to her and you, because you have given me some entertainment this morning.

I am only responding to you only in case a member that i respect, misunderstood my response to WonderWoman. Suicide is a very personal consideration and decision. I don't know of her misery or problems. I know that when I was in such great pain, I somewhat considered suicide. I did however enjoy WonderWoman and certainly appreciated her support of me. I just didn't want to be a voice of reasons without knowing the reasons.

Lyndee, may I suggest that you spend more time trying to make yourself look good and less time trying to make me look bad, it only makes you look bad and me look good.

Missed me? So any way let me just say that the way I responded to Codelias rant was very appropriate. Like I said before if it had been me or another non-member of your club, yous would have attacked like pirrahnas, all for one and one for all. My response to her statement that the use of goddamn in her country is just common was right on. That she thinks that we are all stupid enough to believe that is only 99% correct because I'm not that gullible, I'm the 1%. You members are like, "Oh yeah, we understand that culture, but burkas make yous furious." I also had a problem with cordelia for accusing some of shooting newbie11 "out of the water" and nobody did. Even there she proved her worthiness of membership to your club. She took some words not meant as derogatory but forthright and turn them ugly for her use. I still haven't seen her post anything against you peoples own member absolutely shooting a member out of the water. Remember this?

If you think that I am going to check in with you to see when I can post and what i can post, you are more scrambled than I first thought. I think that there was too much that was and wasn't answered. So much insinuation and opinions. It would be so refreshing if Pincushion would rewrite the HOAX" thread and post only what she knows to be the truth. I mean c'mon, maybe in the UK you can call a medical facility and say, "Hey, this is Lady Pincushion, I need the personal information about Diane." and the facility give it to her. I want the name of the medical centre she called and they gave out personal information. Is that asking too much? Do you really believe that some "confidential informant" contacted Pincushion and told her that a fraud was about to take place? Seriously? That would mean that Spelunker told someone that she was going to fake her death and her confidant was a confidant of Pincushion? Does that even make sense? Why would this person be unwilling to come forward and clear up the slop? Pig slop. To listen to Pincushion, you would think that i wrote the "HOAX" post. Because I talk about Spelunker, she attacks me for the pain to Waddie and janie and all. Newsflash, Pincushion, if you are so concerned about hurting people, don't post it. But then, you looked at it as your moment of glory, your greatest AI moment in AI history Pincushion. Anyone that reads your "HOAX" posts knows the euphoria you were feeling. Lev..I never called a medical faculty and said that I wanted personal info on anyone. I emailed and enquired about a trial programme on Amyloidsis as I was interested for my aunt...that is hiow i gotmy info from there..as infact I was interested for my aunt..they told me there was no such programme and thats when the info i was sent about shug made me realise it wasnt true...so get your facts straight..and apologise for lying as to what i actually said.

I know, Im on 12, plus an injection once amonth. A lots of ups and downs. Doing great right now besides skin rash. It would be good to hear about people and how they are handleing their RA. back to RA... I sometimes have to use a wheelchair, most times I don't. But I have perm nerve damage in my leg from a back surgery gone bad in 2007. I have a lot of difficulity walking far. I also, because of my back, am uncomfortable sitting for long periods of time. I don't understand the crushing fatigue that seems to go along with the RA, when I have a flair the fatigue is so difficult to deal with. The pain, stiffness, sore joints, I can take prescption strength Ibupropfen if need be, plus I have steriods I can take, plus the Plaquenil, I also take Roxicodone as needed. But the fatigue, wow, that really really gets to me. Half the time I don't sleep right anyhow because of the extreme back pain, the other times its the RA. I would love to wake up pain free. I have had a couple days like that, its truly wonderful, what remarkable days those are. Too far and too few between.

inflamedone: the pic on your profile of your grandson is precious. I have two grandsons, ages 3 years and 18 months. They are the light of my life, I love being a grandma. I LOVE being a young grandma LOL. I never realized just how much joy grandchildren would be, its a precious gift for sure.

Relatively speaking, I guess I am new to this website. I'm in the middle of a flare, which is the reason for so many posts. Plus, I'm extremely opinionated.

History, the short version: Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism about 18 years ago, then pituitary microadenoma, then CPPD, then PsA [without the skin component] - all in the space of 3 years. Then OA. Have had multiple surgeries for tenosynovitis and cartilage. Seronegative RA [checked 2 or 3 times, though years ago]; planning to have it rechecked in December since it's been a while. Also suspect I now have Ankylosing Spondylitis and Cricoarytenoid Arthritis. Frequent flier of Kenalog - my saviour.

Can't take the biologics because I have latent TB. Have done reasonably well on MTX with Celebrex. Recently, however, I've been having more flares and upping the MTX.

Can't take the biologics because I have latent TB. Have done reasonably well on MTX with Celebrex. Recently, however, I've been having more flares and upping the MTX.

Sam, I was also Diagnosed with Hypothyroidism in my mid twenties...to me it seemed to start the whole disease process in my life...First the thyroid, then later MS and now a year ago RA...I asked my General Doctor and MS doctor and RA doc if this is normal....

The RA doc said, "well we know your body alread makes the antibiodies"

The MS, Doc said he has seen it many times...MS is more common than people think... he also said so many people go undiagnosed with MS...

The General Practioner said it is not uncommon for autoimune disease to "stack" up on each other...

Sounds like you and I have a deck "stacked"....Hope you feel better from you flair and welcome to the board..

WOW I was diagnosed with hypothryoid about 13 years ago and thats when things started going down hill healthwise for me too. Before the hypo I had migraines, I was diagnoised with those in 1991, but that was all. After the hypothroidism came all my back pain and then the RA. I now have doctors arguing about the RA diagnosis because my labs are all negative yet I seem to fit the RA diagnosis so well anyhow. I was checked for MS because some of the symptoms fit too but the labs were all negative. The only thing that is not negative is the way I feel, my sore, swollen joints, the terrible fatigue, the stiffness that lasts. Also, I am in the oteopenia range, thats inbetween normal and osteporosis. I have arthritis in my neck, back, and knee, thats where they found it so far at least proven by MRI and the very mild one in the finger and wrist.

My hypothyroidism was diagnosed shortly after I was under a huge amount of stress - probably one of the most stressful times in my life. It was like a domino effect from that point on. Sound familiar?

My flare is winding down, thanks.....it wasn't a huge flare this time, for which I'm really grateful. But it seems to have introduced my lower back to this madness. After a while you just go with the flow.

Hi Sam, I think it is a domino effect. I started off with a diagnosis in 1967 of Sarcoidosis, hypothyroidism with goiter in 1979, and RA symptoms started in 1985 but not diagnosed with RA till 1999 when I had a blown disk at L5/S1, diagnosed with PsA in 2005. I don't know what the next 10 years will bring but I hope I've reached the end of the line with new auto-immune diseases. I think it's very common to have this effect. I really didn't see whaer Spelunker admitted to having something to do with a hoax. She did mention "someone she trusted". but, I am not saying this or that because(ahem) I really don't know. I would however like to fine the post where Spelunker gave her medical centre name out, the one that Pincushion contacted because I would also like to contact them.
