If true then this whole climate clap trap has been a scam.
I'm not smart enough to know.
In my never to be humble opinion, Bodak, the whole climate screeching has been in error. I am more inclined to think of the temporary warming as nothing more than a cycle. If we're going to do anything, it will be to go into a mini-ice age. I have held this rather unpopular view for many years. Only time will tell.[QUOTE=IslandWoman]In my never to be humble opinion, Bodak, the whole climate screeching has been in error. It's been my belief since the beginning of this "global warming" scam that it's all political. And it's made some big bucks for it's biggest supporter, Al Gore.[QUOTE=Linncn]It's been my belief since the beginning of this "global warming" scam that it's all political. Totally agree as well...always seems to go back to money. It does not matter if there is global warming, or cooling or anything like that. What does matter is that we all be careful about using up our natural resources as fast as we can get them. I see nothing wrong with controlling emissions to keep our planet clean and also growing business such as wind and solar energy. These are extremely clean sources of energy and a way to put people to work. Oil does nothing but keep us in wars. I agree for the most part, especially about oil being the root of many of our modern evils.
I am a Climate Change Sceptic.
I believe it to be a political money making scam.
Wind Farms are next to useless.

Back in college (late 80's, early 90's) I bought into the whole global warming thing, as did most of the science types I hung around with (I was a chem/math major).  But as I spent more time investigating "global warming" I gradually began to feel that the whole thing was a big pile of BS.  In addition, I began to see that scientists who disagreed with the mainstream global warming views were publicly ridiculed and belittled and because of that, many who held alternate views simply kept their mouths shut.  Wasn't it Al Gore himself who proclaimed that there was nothing left to debate about the topic? Wind farms are generating a great deal of power, being stored and used in Washington state and many parts of California.  In our area geothermal is generating power.  ANY resource that will reduce our need for oil is a good thing if it's done in a conscientious and earth friendly manner.  There are some towns and cities in the western states that are powered totally or a large percentage of their power is coming from wind, sun and geothermal.  I've always felt that these changes were due to normal, cyclic weather changes.  Everything in moderation, including the harvest of the rain forests.  LindyIt's starting to look like this is not a scam.
Peoples heads should roll ...
It's a good thing when people want to be wise stewards of the land and it's resources.  But policy is being made as though man made global warming is a fact.  It is not.  It is a crack pot theory based on an incorrect model and it will effect the economy of the entire world.  And not in a good way.Linncn. Man does have an impact on the earth, and I don't believe it to be a positive impact at this point.

LinB....very well stated. I totally agree.well, Lorster, I don't recall saying that man has no impact on the Earth.  I think man has an impact on his immediate environment.  But to say man, miniscule in comaprison with the vastness of the Earrth, can change the actual global temperature is just plain silly.  And it's thousands upon thousands of climatlogolists that say that.  You need to expand your horizens beyond Al Gore.I don't know much about global warming. I do not follow Al Gore. I just use common sense, I recycle, I drive a Prius, I turn my lights out. I buy in bulk and use cloth bags. I do not care what others do. I do it because it makes economic and environmental sense. If you want your carbon foot print to be huge, so be it, I don't care. But for me, I care about my kids and what kind of a planet I will leave behind to them.

Well-stated, LinB.

However, just follow Gore's money trail.
I try not to be wasteful, but I am not concerned about my "carbon footprint".  I am more concerned about the kind of country my grandkids will be living in after this administration gets though destroying it.  I am not worried that God hasn't allowed the resources to keep the world going for as long as He chooses to.
