I am a newbie, and recently had a pretty violent flu experience which seems to have opened Pandora's box and released RA. I am 57, come from a long line of females with RA but up until now, have not had any symptoms. Well, they made up for lost time, big time! My primary care physician, who has a background in rheumatology, feels this is what I have, but I have an appt. Monday with a Rheumatologist, and have had extensive blood work. I didn't know the flu could jumpstart RA, has anyone else had this experience? My hands are a mess, along with my shoulders, arms, knees and feet.
