Arthritis Information -A case of Infective Arthritis

This is my first post here and I'll appreciate if anybody comes out with valuable suggestions.

It all started about a month  ago when one fine morning I found that there's an extreme amount of pain in my neck and I could barely lift my head out of my pillow. The pain subsided with painkillers(paracetamol based) in a day or two, however I found that there's an extreme amount of pain on my right ankle with swollen and redness and it was impossible for me to walk. The doctor ordered blood test and my uric acid was found to be 5.8. The doctor suggested that it was a case of high uric acid and I was put on Zyloric for two weeks or so.
In two weeks the Uric acid level decreased to 4.5 however the pain refused to go away. So I went on another doctor and he said that it was not related to uric acid and he suggested infective arthritis. As per his advise I two four antibiotic injections and also was put on Inmecin-R (with antacid). This time there was marked improvement and the redness and swollenness subsided within a day or two. After around 7 days I tried to stop taking Inmecin-R and found that the pain in my ankle returned immediately(although the redness and swollenness did not). So, the doctor advised me to continue Inmecin-R for 7 days more which I am doing now.

My question: Is there anyone who faced symptoms like this? For how long I can continue taking Inmecin-R (I think it upsets  my stomach) without significant side effects? Is there any chance of any permanent damage to  my ankle? What is the chance of the appearance of  disease recurrently?

Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated!
