So I mentioned a while back that my daughter was expecting her first child in April.  Well this weekend we found out that my son and his wife are expecting their second child in July.  Looks like it's going to be a busy year for us!

It was rather funny the way they told us.  I was out shopping Friday evening and when I pulled up in the driveway I saw their car there.  They had been there visiting with my husband for about 45 mins prior to me getting home.  Then after I had been home for about 20 mins Bailey came up to me pointing to her shirt.  I was cleaning my glasses at the time and put them back on and looked at what she was pointing to.  It said "I love being a big sister"  Neither of us had even noticed her shirt!

So now I have 2 new little ones to look forward to this year!

oh...btw...not all the family members know about it just yet, so anyone that I'm friends with on facebook, best not to say anything there just yet
Thanks

Thanks Congratulations!! That's wonderful news! congrats. that's great news!!Thats wonderful,  grandkids are great, but great- grandkids are the greatest.  I just love them and they keep us going...
CongratulationsThats so cool!  Some have all the luck!   Congratulations Kel...some more babies.  yahooo.

Get working on those boys Waddie.
Waiting to shop at the football factory Kel...;.lol   Congratulations!  That is great news  Do your son and daughter live in the same area?  It'll be fun having two so close in age.  Thanks Mel, Janlee, Rusty, Waddie, Teed, Pin and Linncn!
It'll be a very exciting time for us!

Pin...I mentioned our conversation to my husband last night and he agreed that that would be something Jon would love!  Especially right from the UK.  I think he misses the UK, but has been back at least once (that I know of) since they moved from there.

Linccn...yes my kids are very close to where I live...my daughter is about a 2 min drive from me and my son maybe a 7 min drive..lol.  It's a small city..only about 36,000-37,000 ppl.  You can get anywhere within the city in no more than 10 mins.

Those babies will probably be the best of friends.   And how wonderful for you to be right there by your grandkids too.  I wish I was closer to mine.

Will u be seeing your granddaughter during the holidays, Linncn?Yes ma'am, I sure will.  We are actually supposed to be down south right now for Thanksgiving but some things came up that forced us to change our plans.  But my son, the one that just got back from Iraq, will be coming up on the 3rd for a visit.  So I'll still see his fam but missing out on my other son and DIL :(Sorry that both your sons won't be there, but still glad you'll be seeing your other son along with his family...I know you'll be enjoying that visit!I sure will :)   But this is your great news thread, and I'm very glad to hear your family's happy news.  The only thing better than a baby on the way is TWO babies on the way, right?

yes, I was very suprised to hear that they were expecting...I knew that they wanted more (they'd like 3) but I just wasn't expecting it just yet...but it'll be exciting!

Congratulations on the grandbabies!!!!!!

well, when I was born I was baby number three in UNDER three years.  It must have been pretty hectic for a while I'm sure, but their is definitly something to be said for having your kids close together.  My older brothers (and my younger sister too) are my best friends.  It wasn't always that way.  We used to fight like crazy!!   Their's nine years between my oldest and my youngest and although they love each other and are friends, my daughter really looks up to her big brothers, they still didn't "grow up" together. It's a good relationship, but a different kind of relationship. Thanks, Reegie!
I love hearing about siblings that were close as kids and have stayed that way all through the years.
My two aren't quite 2 yrs apart and are pretty close as well.
