Ever wonder what is causing your pain? | Arthritis Information

I am having problems with my feet.  I think I have tendonitis, a strained ankle, and RA in my toes and the balls of my feet.

I'm not sure sure whether to go to a podiatrist or not.  A injection, that worked of course, would be nice.

In the meantime it's a beautiful, sunny day nd I would love to go for a walk.  My feet hurt a bit worse after a walk but I feel good.

Do you think it's okay to walk for exercise when you have some pain?  I certainly imagine many of you have pain everytime you walk.

Thanks.  Amother kind of trite question!

dotty, have you twisted your ankle? or any injury lately?

If not it does sound like RA to me..I have the same problems, it is frustrating, RA pain is the pits.

People with RA and any arthritis must keep moving. I know all to well how pain makes you want to retreat...but if you keep moving it makes the pain somehow less ...I always am more stiff and have more pain after sitting at my desk and getting up in the mornings...ugh.
But I do find short walks and exersise helps with the stiff painful joints in the long run.

It is a balance act for me...sorta like turning a dial on a thermostat...finding the right degree of movement to keep me as comfortable as possible.

One thing that got me going with exersise is that no matter what I did or do I have pain..I mean I have pain everyday..something somewhere on my body hurts.

Make sure you have a great pair of walking shoes. light weight, well fitted. If not it will compound you feet problems for sure. I do take a pain pill on tough days to help keep me moving. Might help you also. I don't know...everyone feels different about taking pain meds.

Thanks a lot inflamed, i do think I twisted my ankle a bit lately walking on uneven ground.

Is it best to stay off a small injury?
If your ankle is injured, then you should have it looked at by a doctor.
I remember I was with my mother and she stepped off the raised patio, about a 4 inch height and broke her foot. She didn't twist her foot or fall or anything...It was crazy. I couldn't believe it was broken. Best get any injury checked out dotty.
