Enbrel and pred injections | Arthritis Information

Well, I've decide to take enbrel. I'm afraid I'll be holding my breath until the actual injection.

My question is along with RA, I also have tendonitis in my left foot. I've received a couple injections in the past and found they offered quite a bit of relief. Can I still receive these injections when I start Enbrel? I should begin next week, I've already called the nurse twice! She said ask the doctor, but I think other Enbrel users should know as well.

Dotty, once you start Enbrel the tendonitis may disappear. Wait until you've had Enbrel for awhile before having your foot injected. Where is the tendonitis? If it's the Achilles tendon then that should never be injected due to the possibility of rupturing the tendon. I'd hold off until you can judge if the Enbrel is working. Lindy

Are you getting steriod injectons? If that's the case, yes. If you need them you will still be able to have those injections while on Enbrel.
