Enbrel arriving tomorrow | Arthritis Information

This is happening much too fast.  I called with my decision on Friday afternoon and today I'm having my TB and viral hepatitis tests.

I image my first dose will be soon.

I had no idea things would move so quickly!

That's my update.  Hope all goes well.

Thanks for all your good advice!   I'll keep you updated.
Thanks for the update Dotty.  I hope you get the result you want from the enbrel.  and I hope it works as quickly for you as it did for me.  Here is one important thing about shots  that I learned the hard way. Allow the alcohol to dry completlely before taking the shot. It really stings if you don't.  Also, whatever you do, don't rub the injection site right after the shot. I don't know why, but that hurts like crazy.Once I finally agreed to start Humira I received a call from the pharmacy before I had even gotten home from the doctor that same afternoon!! I think once they get your insurance to approve the medication they don't waste anytime. That's a good thing Dotty. Now that you've made up your mind.....there's no time like the present to get started. Consider yourself lucky. I've heard stories here of folks waiting months for their insurance just to approve the cost. I didn't have that problem but lots of folks do. These medications are really expensive; some companies are cautious about approving them.

Best of luck to you. I hope it all goes well. Keep us in the loop.
Yay, Dotty! It is fast, but that's a good thing! I hope this med works wonders for you.

Dotty, you're on your way, hopefully to relief of the symptoms.  Did your doctor also prescribe a dmard like MXT or Arava?  Take care and keep us posted. Lindy LinB2009-12-01 16:07:57
