Hey everyone, maybe there's a thread about this already, but idk...

so im wonderin...does anyone feel like sharing their Xmas plans?

i'll go first

On Xmas Eve, im going to my grandmas and i get my presents from her, then i go up to my house later and get my presents from under my tree! (about 25 presents this year) NO SANTA, apparently i found out, by MYSELF he is not real lol

of course, i knew that for a while, so did my friends, but i just told my parents this year about my "discovery"

On Xmas day, going to grandma's again lol
gonna have some lasagna and ham, with other stuff...yummy
(I never had homemade lasagna before, never ever!)

So, I hope y'all have a happy Xmas!!

Lasagna is YUMMY!! You're gonna love it!

We are staying home for Christmas Day as my husband has to work. We'll be having a nice dinner when he gets home. :)  Then Saturday and Sunday we'll be out in the desert spending time with his Grandparents. Not sure what we'll be eating.... you have me wanting lasagna! ;)  We won't open presents until the 1st because my older son is out of state with his Daddy for winter break. I want everyone to be together so we'll wait. So in a way, we get to have Christmas twice! Sweet!

PS - I still believe. :)

oh seems like an interesting Xmas for u

hope u have fun

speaking of presents; this is the first year i bought for other ppl, i bought for my parents and grandparents and my best friend :)

so, instead of just "recieving
i "give and recieve" this year lolz

and u believe in Santa? lol, that's cool sorta :) lol

We've already had our Christmas dinners with my extended family and my husbands as well.
Christmas eve will probably be just the 2 of us.
Christmas day the kids will be over for breakfast then to open presents.  I think the kids will be going to their father's place for dinner, so we'll probably just relax for most of the day and if we feel up to it, we'll go see a movie.
okay, everyone sounds like they will have a fun Christmas!

Christmas Eve, We are having homemade pepperoni rolls and a nice salad...the we will exchange gifts with my father and kids ( my mother is in a rehab facility, she just had her knee cap removed on the 15th...she is 81. Bless her heart..Christmas day is also her Birthday) Anyhow, we will exchange gifts and go visit my mother, then my husband is going to stay home with the Grandson while he sleeps and we will go to the Christmas service at 11:00 pm.
Christmas morning we will go down to my daughters Condo on the 5th floor and enjoy Gavin opening Santas gifts and as always, have a breakfast caserol for Brunch. I like the caserol because you prepare it the day before and keep it in the frige and pop it in the oven...no mess no fuss....later in the day we will visit mother again and will set out ham and a few fixings...my oldest sister has a condo across the street and her and her DH will come over also. I am excited to be with my parents for Christmas. It has been a long time. I wish my mother was home.

I want to spend as much time playing with Gavin as I can...we have been giving him a present to open here and there so he won't be so overwhelmed...he has certainely gotten the hang of it

MERRY CHRISTMAS
We are not celebrating x-mas.....We are celebarting Christ's birthday, We will celebarte with large family, open gifts and eating and just enjoyong the day.
Merry Christmas,  may you have a great day no matter how you celebarte or call it.  and hopely we'll all have a better new yeaars.

Do you think we should call father's day men's day because all males are not fathers or mother's day as woman's day.  come on we could change every holiday because someone don't believe the way we do.  Christmas is Christmas if you don't believe in Christ then don't call it Christmas, but don't try to change it.  Do your own thing and leave Christmas alone.

Just because I'm a stickler for correct information I'm posting this.  Oh and for the record, I'm also a Christian....

All of the hype and hysteria over supposedly taking Christ out of Christmas by writing "Xmas" instead of spelling out "Christmas" is both uninformed and misdirected.

Abbreviations used as Christian symbols have a long history in the church. The letters of the word "Christ" in Greek, the language in which the New Testament was written, or various titles

Another example is the symbol of the fish, one of the earliest symbols of Christians that has been found scratched on the walls of the catacombs of Rome. It likely originated from using the first letter of several titles of Jesus (Jesus Christ Son of God Savior). When combined these initial letters together spelled the Greek word for fish (icquV, ichthus).

The exact origin of the single letter X for Christ cannot be pinpointed with certainty. Some claim that it began in the first century AD along with the other symbols, but evidence is lacking. Others think that it came into widespread use by the thirteenth century along with many other abbreviations and symbols for Christianity and various Christian ideas that were popular in the Middle Ages. However, again, the evidence is sparse.

In any case, by the fifteenth century Xmas emerged as a widely used symbol for Christmas. In 1436 Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press with moveable type. In the early days of printing typesetting was done by hand and was very tedious and expensive. As a result, abbreviations were common. In religious publications, the church began to use the abbreviation C for the word "Christ" to cut down on the cost of the books and pamphlets. From there, the abbreviation moved into general use in newspapers and other publications, and "Xmas" became an accepted way of printing "Christmas" (along with the abbreviations Xian and Xianity). Even Webster’s dictionary acknowledges that the abbreviation Xmas was in common use by the middle of the sixteenth century.

So there is no grand scheme to dilute Christianity by promoting the use of Xmas instead of Christmas. It is not a modern invention to try to convert Christmas into a secular day, nor is it a device to promote the commercialism of the holiday season.  Its origin is thoroughly rooted in the heritage of the Church.  It is simply another way to say Christmas, drawing on a long history of symbolic abbreviations used in the church. In fact, as with other abbreviations used in common speech or writing (such as Mr. or etc.), the abbreviation "Xmas" should be pronounced "Christmas" just as if the word were written out in full, rather than saying "exmas." Understanding this use of Christian symbolism might help us modern day Xians focus on more important issues of the Faith during Advent, and bring a little more Peace to the Xmas Season.

Oh well, my friends sayd so, and when i told my parents they confirmed that he's just "fake" like the other "fake" ppl...i used to believe tho I most certainly believe in Santa.. He's as real as innocence and hope. Maybe you will regain your faith in him
For Christmas we open gifts Christmas morning, Me and Mark, the kidlets, my DS and x DIL, and her mom.

Then at 4 we begin dinner. This year it looks like we have 12 for sure and 16 invited.
My DD and her b/F bring his parents and his  elderly great gramma.

We always have roast beef, roasted potatoes and mashed potatoes,  3 or 4 veggies, salad  crudites, olives, deviled eggs and way  way way too many desserts!

Before the  dinner, we have appetizer trays set out in the kitchen.

We eat buffet style. There are 2 small tables and many tv trays.

I can't wait.

Tomorrow night we drive around and look at Christmas lights. Wheeee..
i was going to "shine it on" and just break out leftovers from thanksgiving, but couldn't stand it. Today, I decided we'd have an Italian Christmas -- and I'm making lasagna. Certainly not my usual feed, but at least it's something more than leftovers.
