Merry Christmas everyone, I woke up feeling fine but as I was dressing I had exteme pain as I was pulling a shirt over my head. the pain was upper back.. has anyone experienced this before?? I don't really have shortness of breath but can feel that my back area is sensitive... appreciate any thoughts.. Janhi Janlee

happy holidays to u and yours.
sorry about the sudden back pain...my upper body went into chronic pain mode lat summer. So now, the suggestion that weight loss might help the knee doesn't hold water when the elbows, wrists, fingers are crackling and in pain and shooting pains fly around just about everyplace else.

I was tnking maybe the dry air with its 'sparks' etc have an impact on what we feel? Put away two blankets that snapped and crackled everytime we moved them around.

could be anything...including a wrong turn while you were sleeping. I hope you feel better, my salvation is hot water bottles.

Could be anything. Extreme pain might be the result of sleeping in an "unfriendly" position, possible causing impingement. If this is the case, and it's not a fractured vertebra, the a cortisone injection MIGHT help.

See if it improves in a couple days. If not, perhaps you should make an appointment.

Good luck. Hope it goes away fast!
Merry Christmas!....I read your post and thought maybe it could be a muscle spasm...since you were fine and experainced pain as you were dressing. IDK really. Just a guess, I get them out of the blue and they are painful and leave me sore for days. Hope you find comfort soon.

Thanks for y'alls input.. I'm feeling better now, but it really bothered me for a little while..don't think I slept the wrong way..guess I must have lifted my arms the wrong way. :) hope everyone had a great Christmas. It's often hard to pinpoint exactly what you did to cause various aches/pains, especially since it can take a day or two for the muscles to realize they hurt!
