I am starting on Enbrel and just received a positive mantoux test. My doctor says I need to go on 9 mths of anti-TB meds (isoniazid).I can start  the Enbrel at the same time. Has any one  else been on this med and if so can you tell me your experience?? I admit that I am anxious about starting Enbrel as it is and this just increases my anxiety!I can offer no experiance with either drug. I hope you ge the answer your looking for. I understand why you would be anxious starting a new drug like enbrel. Gathering as much accurate information should help ease the anxiety. I have noticed a lot of people seem to benefit from enbrel. Well, just wanted to wish you the best. Someone will be along that can shed some light.

Take care,
Lisa

Some people have side effects with isonazid, others don't seem to be bothered by it.

Check your meds and see if any has an effect on the liver. Also, you may have some food restrictions.

Seems to me that it would be smart to do this now - once you're older isonazid is not recommended unless you have active TB. Actually, you really have no choice if you want to take the Enbrel or other biologic. I don't know of any physicians who will allow patients with positive TB tests to take biologics without concurrent TB treatment.
