hank williams junior lives just down the road from me Lev. Oh, and I love that song.Well then,

Hank must have moved recently from Tennessee to Montana. As far back as i can remember he has lived in Paris, Tennessee or there abouts. I know I have seen he and his wife plenty of times there and talked with his wife quite a few times some years ago.

Hmmmmmm.

LEV
levlarry2010-01-15 08:37:59He had a large ranch outside of Missoula, sold most of it a while back but he still frequents the property he has left there.   I know there was a time when he also lived outside of Ennis. Not sure what happened to that place. He was upset with the state a while back because they would not grant him an elk permit. Not sure if that was the reason he sold. I don't keep track of him but I do like some of his music.Lorster,

I'm very surprised to read that you don't just like that song but that you "love" that song. that song stands for everything you stand against. That song is for freedom and love of country and liberty. That song is for the right to bear arms and to use those arms to ensure freedom and liberty. It's about praying, that alone should give you shivers. No where is there flowers in the hair and peace marches. This song is about the very people you detest, those you call rednecks. Just doesn't make sense that you would even listen to someone with values that you disagree with. I won't listen to artists that i have no respect for.

You are funny Lev. I was raised on a ranch in the foothills of the crazy mountains. My family owns a hunting camp...yes, where people from all over the country go and pay to.......HUNT! That involves guns. Lots of them. And BTW Lev. I'm a gun owner, so is my husband, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncle, kids, .all of them.( I have 150 lbs of elk meat in my freezer if anyone would like some.) I come from a long line of avid hunters and gun owners. I do not wear flowers in my hair. I also happen to like Toby Keith and Ted Nugent. I listen to the music, not necessarily the lyrics. Another thing Lev. I'm a hater of war, and a promoter of peace. I believe in diplomacy. I believe in protecting our freedoms, on our soil. I fly my flag on a regular basis. I'm an American just like you. I just do not believe in the things you do. It does not make me less American than you. It does not make you less American than me. It is the wonderful thing about living in this great country....our rights to our freedoms, our rights to practice whatever religion we want, or not practice it at all. Our right to voice our opinions. Our right to own and keep guns. The list goes on and on. So Lev, keep posting your music links and I will most likely continue to open and listen. Listen to Wolves by Garth Brooks. One of my very favorite songs. Reminds me of my child hood more than any other song out there. I would post a link but I honestly do not know how. It can be googled though. excellent song and really depicts how Montana ranchers did in the 70's[QUOTE=lorster]You are funny Lev. I was raised on a ranch in the foothills of the crazy mountains. So, you do not support our Troops stationed around the world? Or ,you believe we could protect our whole country from within our own borders?....just trying to understand what you mean exactly by your statement above.

OR

Do you mean we are losing our freedoms on our own soil and we should be focusing on protecting them...like right to bare arms...freedom of religion....

Lorster,

Didn't you forget to mention the portrait of Ronald Reagan that sits just under the rifle rack over the mantle in the family room? I had heard that the song by Young Jeezy was your favorite song. You know, the one called "My President".  You are too funny Lorster. You make two or three posts that that make derogatory statements against southern whites and other rednecks, and then all of a sudden, you try to convince us that you are one. Well, that sounds about right.

LEV
Who is Young Jeezy? I'm not sure what that is. Lev. There was no pic of RR in our family room. My grandfather was a state legislator for two terms and a county commissioner for 30 years. He was a democrat. He also served in WWII, an active member of the VFW, Moose Lodge, Elks, and was a Shriner. He served on our school board and hospital board, and mental health board. In the summer, he was MC of the Dale Small Rodeo circuit and taught square dance. My grandparents raised me Lev because my parents were not able to.
Guess you can blame them with the values I was raised with. He was a gun owner, drove 4 wheel drive pick ups with gun racks in the window, grew grain and cattle. Probably as redneck as they get in Montana. So, there ya go. You are so busy judging people for not being like you, that you fail to find out who those people really are.    Don't worry about explaining Jeezy. I googled it during my last post and then thought I would mention it. I cannot stand Rap music. I don't listen to that crap. Maybe you can come up with something more worth listening to. I don't believe in war. Period. If they come here, then we take action. I believe in talking. We should have never gone to Iraq. We should have found Bin Laden. We will never find him. We have spent over a trillion dollars, killed many innocent people, and for what? You can roll your eyes or what ever you do. But that is how I feel. It is ok if you believe in war and killing. I don't.Just thought it would be more to your way of thinking. Doesn't it go something like "My President is black and so is my Lambo". And doesn't the song speak of the criminal George W. Bush and about how he stole Florida. Of course you have to kind of look for it since it's mixed with all those wonderful four letter words that is so important to teach to the innercity youth. Just seems to be more of your way of thinking i thought. I listened to our President yesterday at the Vernon Street Baptist Church. No offense but how can he say so much and say so little? Of course, he mentioned the lynchings of long ago. I thought, why do so many people live in our history. Why not address the black on black killings, murders, rapes, robberies that are running rampant throuout the inner-cities in our present day. Why not talk about the "My President" song that is filled with filth and vulgarity and taught to the inner-city youth? You know what i mean. The past is the past. It cannot be changed. The present can be changed, but hey, I guess he figures, why bother with the present of our futuer when it's better to live about the past.

LEV
Lev, I did not listen to the song. I clicked on the you tube video and when i discovered it was rap, I shut it off. I don't feel these types of musicians (if that is what you call them) are good examples to the young people, anywhere. It is not just the "black youth" listening to this music. Oh, and what is Lambo? I have never heard that term, I'll google when I finish this. To be honest with you Lev, I cannot believe you listened to the words of that song. I had never heard of it. And why would you be listening to it? I did not hear the presidents speech. I have a lot going on in my life right now so do not have time.
