Has anyone had Swollen lymph nodes? | Arthritis Information

I found a small lump under my jaw , near the top of my neck just on one side.  Dont want to worry, but thought I'd throw this question out to all of you . Has anyone had swollen lymph nodes from RA? Should I just watch it and tell my doctor at the next appt?Kelly, swollen lymph nodes can be caused by so many things... bug bites, numerous kinds of infections... as its their job to filter the invaders out.  Sometimes, the swelling goes away all on its own, but if its tender, sore, continues swelling, other lymph nodes swell or is worrisome to you, go see your PCP.  It would be worth the visit just for peace of mind to me.

Keep us posted and good wishes to you!

Thanks Waddie! Hope everything is going well for you. :)

Could be a saliva gland from Sjorgrens also. I get that all of the time. Everytime i flare I get swollen glands under my jaw. I get them in my face and eyes sometimes also. Something to concider anyway.

It could be alot of things because you have both saliva glands and lymph nodes under your jaw.
Oddest thing for me. Anytime I'm about to come down with a flu, virus, respiratory infection the lymph node on my upper neck around the jaw but below the ear start puffing out. Been doing that since I was a kid.

But it can mean any number of things.
_popupControl(); Yes I have had lymph nodes swell so bad under my arms they sent me to a surgeon to take some fluid for testing to make sure I wasn't getting cancer from the medications. That came back fine, but they weren't satisfied the took 3 lymph nodes to be sent out for biopsy. They came back fine thank god.But in the process of only taking 3, i have lymphedema in that arm.And have to wear a compression sleeve.Anyhow I still have them swell up really bad under arms and in the groin area. They said it was from the RA.

Lately, I have them more than not.  Anytime I am in a flare, they become swollen.

Glands can be swollen for so many reasons...RA, illness, just because....  If they are still swollen after a few days, or really bother you, give the dr. a call.  If they are really painful, you might want to call tomorrow and not have to wait over the weekend.

Feel better!!!
Used to get tremendous lymph swellings with Adult Onset Still's Disease, both groin and sides of neck -- but that's part of the profile. I'm not sure if it is with RA. If it persists, see your doctor.Thank you everyone. I didn't realize so many things can cause swollen lymph nodes and how common it is. I have an appt in a few weeks with my rheumy and will show her if it's still swollen.I've had a couple of pea sized lymphnodes in my neck for, gosh, a couple of decades now.  The doc said that they probably became enlardged during some infection and then never went all the way back down.  He said it isn't unusual for that to happen and not to worry unless they get bigger.I get them especially if my RA is acting up.  It goes away after a day or so.
