Just got back from rd | Arthritis Information

I am kind of numb because I feel like no progress is being made.  I was AGAIN taken off of mtx.  RD decided to extend my disability another three months but I have to go to my boss and make sure I will not lose my job.  If so, I have to talk rd into letting me go back to work.

I am being scheduled for a colonoscopy

Asked About the exhaustion.  He said we will address it after my sleep apnea test in the hospital this week.

I am typing on my new laptop, not as nice as my last one but I was informed when my Tyler dog spilled coffee on old, EXPENSIVE, laptop - it was ruined

Good news is tomorrow is a new day, I am not feeling bad today, no headaches and just worn out.  I found out I get a discount on my utilities because of my RA

I need to absorb today and read your posts.  Take care guys.

Hey Roxy, sorry to hear you didn't get the news you wanted, but you are right this disease takes lots of patience and time.  IBS is pretty crappy (sorry just couldn't resist!).

Colonoscopy scares me but all INVASIVE

Back at you HUGS

Hey Roxy, It wouldnt hurt to get a 2nd opinion before going ahead with the Colonoscopy.  I know that dependent on your age, family history and symptoms, it may be best for you to have it. If the IBS is not severe, you  may consider seeking a second opinion.

Sorry to hear that you had a less than desirable day

I understand your fear for your job. I will send good vibes your way and hope for the best for you.  Hang in there.  My mom had a colonoscopy and they put her out for it.  If it is preventative, then maybe this could be a real blessing in disguise.  You never know.  The more you know, the more you know.  Good luck. Worst part about the colonoscopy is the gunk they make you drink. The
test itself is nothing. Really. Embarrassing, but otherwise nothing. And
you really want to rule out other problems, which most of us seem to
have. Hang in there. Hi Roxy. I have irritable bowel aand reflux. My irritable bowel was diagnosed a few months ago after a colonoscopy. The drink is the worst part. I was put out with a local. I didn't feel a thing and I was not even sore at all after I woke up. It was actually a great sleep. I wasn't even groggy when I woke up. It was a little embarrasing...the idea of it...it really was no big deal. My husband had his years ago and he was not put out. It was uncomfortable. I would ask to be put out.Good luck! SuzqDefinatly would NOT want to be awake for that one....YIKES!!

Are the doctors reconsidering you meds? You seem to be having less luck with Enbrel than I thought... hope things turn around for you soon,

Take care,

Love Moonie x

Thanks Moonie and all;  Just waiting to hear from the GI doc for the date.  I am DEFINITELY asking to be put out.  My rd mentioned both Crohn's and cancer to scare me I think.  I will do whatever it takes.  I just want to get well.  You know that saying "Does a bear sh*t in the woods" well if they don't do something - I can tell you the answer to "Does a ranger sh*t in the woods"

Still haven't talked to my boss about my not going back to work yet.  I will let you know.

Good morning all and thanks for the support and advice.  Does that stuff you have to drink taste better on the rocks ?

Are you guys talking about drinking "Go-Lytely"?  It is a big jug of stuff that cleans you out the night before right? I dont work with that stuff typically, but I did work on a Med-Surg unit one night and I had this poor little Granny that had to drink that and get about 5 enemas. I found out later that the poor women went through that 3 nights in row and every time they took her down to scope her, the doc couldnt do it b/c she still had so much stool in her bowels.  I felt so sorry for her. I think if I were at that point I would have told them to forget it. I would just rather be full of sh*t  than go through all of that, esp. if I were 90 yrs old!

Ive been told I was full of sh*t before anyways, so what would be the difference?

Roxy...I had a colonoscopy over the summer.  The procedure itself was absolutely nothing.  I was not totally put to sleep...put in twilight I think it's called...but I don't remember a single thing from it.  The go-lightly was a gallon jug which you have to drink until it runs clear...and runs it will do...lol.  They found a pre-cancerous polyp with atypical cells in my colon, so in the end, it was worth it to have it done.

Don't worry..you'll get through it :)

Thanks Training Girl.  Can't wait to get it behind me

Hi Roxy....Think of it as (This Could Save My Life)  It's really not a big deal Roxy.  Everything in our life that's new is a great concern for us.  After you have had this done, you will be echoing what you are reading from all of us.  So drink the yucky cocktail and enjoy the trip.  And let us know all about it.

Luv, Justme
