correct way to dispose old meds | Arthritis Information

Every January I check expirations dates of all meds; Rx+OTC(inclu vits), all over my house, in purses, travelbag, car. Last year all were ok, but this year I have many old ('08) cold remedies and vitamins I tried, really old Benadryl, although as always, no old Rx.

I want to be an environmentally responsible person as well as lawful.  I know to Not flush or just toss into regular trash.

This week I plan to call the pharmacy and the city dump about it, but I'm wondering, what do all of you do?
great link!! Thanks!! I have an empty liquid fabric softener container that I've been dumping all my expired medications into. When I'm ready to dispose of it, I plan to cover the opening with duct tape, and simply toss it in the trash.
