OK you guys  This has been happening to me quite a bit.  First, I have had diarrhea on and off for months.  The last two weeks - cannot be far from a toilet - keeps me home.  Anyway, today I went to buy some weight watchers (inspired by someone's post) because I really want to exercise again and I think losing weight will help me to feel better.  Anyway, not for the first time, I broke out in a sweat at the grocery store and got dizzy and saw dots before my eyes.  I had to steady myself - hold on to a counter.  Anyway, you think from the diarrhea or could dizziness just  be from RA.  I am wondering if it is standard to test for diabetes when they do our bloodtests.

Feeling sad - my husband may have to be gone for a couple months.  I won't see him at all.  I will have to take care of myself and do the colonoscopy on my own.  TV dinner time and walking the dogs has to be a priority.  I emailed my boss - chicken that I am.  I asked for an extended medical leave of absence.  He is out of town until tomorrow.  Fingers crossed I will get it.  It will make Brett's absence easier if I can go back to work asap but I don't want to go back and not be able to do it.  I am planning some field trips but not well enough right now to get much done.

Sorry for all the venting.  I feel like my body is falling apart

When you have a chem 7 or metabolic panel, your glucose level is tested.  You may see these tests being called a BMP or CMP and they include things like sodium, potassium, etc.

signs of low blood sugar are cold sweat or clammyness, nausea, dizziness, irritability. It usually comes on suddenly and is almost immediatly relieved with a glass of OJ or just some straight up sugar.  This is only a temporary solution!!! If you think your sugar is dropping you need to learn more about hypoglycemia.

I think your problem is related to the diarrhea.

The diarrhea has been due to the MTX too Roxy. Now that they have taken you off of it hopefully things will ease up.

Don't ignore this too long though. Hope you feel better. Hang in there.

You are probably right Lovie.  WOW CRUNCHY -  Our resident nurse.  Everything you say makes sense.  My CMP was HIGH.  What does that mean?  I was trying to remember that BRAT diet from when my daughter was a little girl.  I knew rice was in it.  Thanks, I am going to do it.

I go to the hospital tonight for sleep test - hope I sleep.

Woke up feeling better so far.  My girlfriend, who is really into herbs said she thinks I should take Iodine supplements.  She says it will increase my energy level.  Anyone know anything about that?

Anyway, between the sleep test and colonoscopy maybe I will get some answers.

Thanks Crunchy and Lovie

Best of luck with the sleep test. You should try to write down all of your diet each day and keep track of what you are eating.  I think with this kind of disease, it is easy to throw yourself off without a healthy diet.  You may also have another affliction due to side effects of medication or something.  Share all that with your doctor, and good luck.  The wierd thing is I think I eat a very healthy diet.  I buy all organic when I can, only eat lean meat and mostly fish.  We have a salad everyday, whole grain cereal for breakfast, lots of variety as we love healthy food.  Mainly shop at health food stores and Trader Joes.  Today I ate a bowl of Special K, a yogart, one piece of lean chicken.  I did buy some diet tv dinners, they said no preservatives, because I want to take off some pred. weight.  We drink non fat milk-organic, herbal tea and juices.  We love spinach, brocolli and rice and beans.  Any suggestions?  Trying to avoid wheat so only eat a sandwich maybe once a week.  I miss sandwiches.  My junk food is popcorn and licorice.

I had that happen to me one day while driving to take my daughter to the eye Dr. this past summer. I had to turn around and go back home. I hadn't eaten much that day cause our day was so full and busy running here and there. I was sweating, shaking and felt clammy.

When I got home I drank some juice and stayed in bed feeling so nauseous I thought I was going to have to call the EMT's. I did feel a lbit better after drinking the juice. When I had a glucose test  done all was ok. SPOOKY! :)

It could be so many different things but I woudl consult your GP on it. I take Immodium AD ( the generic) whenever that problem hits, it really works. Hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot of trouble with dizziness and dealing with bright light because of plaquanil?  I have particular trouble with headlights at night and traffic lights if I'm driving into the sun. There are bright streamers that come out of the lights and they practically blind me.Also Sjogrens syndrome can cause eye problems which might result in dizziness. Every time I take metetrexate I am dizzy and unfocused for a few days.  I don't know what you're on, but maybe the medications are at least partially contributing to your problems.

Hope you feel better soon.
