painful tendons | Arthritis Information

Does your tendons hurt like the dickens when you flare? I feel like I got some type of tendonitis (sp) on top of joint pain. Painful to touch.

very tender and painful. My right elbow hurts everytime I stretch out my arm. (one sided)
both my legs hurt down by the inside ankle, shoulder pain, right hip pain...and the front and outside of both my knees hurt and feel unstable. My hands are swollen and red and stiff and painful...what the heck happened to me.

I was pretty stable 48 hours ago. I am going to call my Doctors Monday. Let her know I am taking the pred.
Inflamed,

That's exactly what I feel like when I flare.  I've had a couple of times when I felt like it was in the middle of the joint, but most times, it always feels like tendonitis.

Sure hope you feel better soon.
That is how I am. The story of my life. Plus with the Sjorgrens everything I ever took for it dried me out even more. So with my new med combo. Pilocarpin for some moisture the Lyrica and the Cymbalta I am doing good. I do not take the flexeril anymore. I am at two weeks. Really the combo is the magic trick. I took Lyrica at a higher dose before and did not get the results that I get with the Cymbalta and Lyrica. It took a bit of time to relax my muscles. At first it just seemed to act like a pain medicine. I noticed last night that my muscles are starting to relax. I was stretching and just enjoying the nice change.

I know you are misserable. I hope you get some relief soon.
Same with me. I can't be bothered with ice packs. Depending on which area of the body, I might get a Kenalog injection into that joint which calms down the tendons.Sounds like my story too.  I just double my prednisone for a day or 2 and it helps And then I reduce it slowly.    Comforting to know you all understand and relieved it is not something new I should be worried about.  ( I have had tendons hurt before, but this all of a sudden exploded out of no where) I wonder if the stress of my little Mia dying and my son leaving  for the military finally showed up in my body. Thanks for the replies, it helps.I certainly felt that stress may have been part of your problem. Feel better soon.I have had this in my left ankle for a year or so now.  The tendon along the bottom of my foot gets irritated and feels tight like it's about to snap.  It also stays swollen and very painful.  I had an MRI of the foot/ankle and it revealed tendonitis/tendonosis for which I was prescribed a CAM walker that my insurance promptly denied payment for.
In short....yes I feel the same way when flaring.  In fact I've felt this way for about a week now so maybe I'm getting ready to flare a bit.

Bob
I wonder how many of us can trace flares that were triggered by acute stress. I know I can.

For some of us a pet is a child and I can easily understand how that pet's unexpected [or expected] death would send those cytokines in action.
My tendons from my wrist to my elbow always ache.

You have a couple of good reasons to feel stressed out- sorry
Hope you are able to find a coping mechanism and feel better soon.
