Panamax Osteo | Arthritis Information

Hi Guys, just letting you have a heads up if it applies to you.  I have RA and OA as you know and my pain specialist told me to take panamax Osteo (acetaminophen) its a stronger dose than the normal 500mg panamax tablets, these osteo ones are 625mg, the first release is the fast release but the second part is slow release and therefore lasts up to 8 hours rather than the usual 4-6. He told me to take it 2 to 3 times daily every day and it should help me to opioid spare.  Hope it works for you if you try it, I am getting a prescription for it tomorrow as I can get more that way but they can be bought over the counter.  Regards Janie. I really hope they work for you Janie, they are a lot nicer on the tummy . My mum took the uk equivalent for her hips as she had stomach issues. She also takes Sulphur for her osteo, she said it has helped. It's not a stronger dose; it's just a longer dose.  "Tylenol Arthritis" is the name here; dosing is two 650mg tablets every 8 hours, or 3900mg/day.  'Extra strength' Tylenol dosing is two 500mg tablets every 6 hours, or 4000mg/day, and 'regular strength' Tylenol dosing is two 325mg tablets every 4 to 6 hours (2600mg to 3900mg per day).  Some people just find it more convenient to take fewer pills per day in the extended-release formulation.

Please be aware that if you take vicodine (full of tylenol) you may want to check with your doctor or pharmacist. I think the time release makes sense. Just wanted to be sure no one takes the vicodin and the Arthritis Tylenol together with out checking. Might be hard on someones liver.
