piroxicam and tolectin | Arthritis Information

I've settled in nicely for the last several months on the DMARD Piroxicam 20 mg, once a day.  Now I have trouble getting it.  Various pharmacies say it's discontinued or backordered, no one knows if it's temporary or permanent, no one knows if the non-generic version is available.

I have enough for a while, and my rheumy wants me to take tolectin, 400 mg, 3 times a day.  Less than thrilled about that.  Anyone out there on piroxicam, and are you having trouble getting your scrip filled?  Anyone on tolectin who would care to offer an opinion?  Thank you.
Both of those are NSAIDs, not DMARDs.  I've not taken either of them, so I've got no experiences to share.

Excuse me, I misspoke.  How did I get all those letters mixed up?  NSAIDs it is.

It sure sounds like a toxic alphabet soup at times!

Sometimes my bloodstream feels like a toxic alphabet soup!  All the drugs rambling around in there, I'm amazed I can walk and talk.  That's why I'm so whiny about having to change my scrip.  The only drug I'm willing to be flexible with is the label on my wine...hmm, Bogle or Beringer tonight?

Bumping for bluehour... Thanks for the bump, leila, but looks like the crapfest is beginning again.  No room for serious RA related inquiries.  I'll just fade back for the time being till it dies down.yes.. you are right.. its a crapfest. I hope the tolectin works for you. I switched over to etodolac but I'm not convinced its doing more for me than the naproxen was...
I do hope that you are feeling better these daysI'm going to be able to put off the changeover for three months.  Found a pharmacy that had piroxicam so I will continue with that for the present, and try to find another source.  It's an education when you start looking at drug origins and manufacturers, I must say.  India, India, China, China, China, Canada.  I'll admit I'm not excited about taking a drug made in China.  Hope their standards are higher for pharmaceuticals than they are for toys and food.  Ugh.
