Anyone know about the withdrawl systems from Citalopram (anti-depressant). I don't like what I was reading on the internet it seems scary. I have only been on it for about 3 weeks. It seems the longer your on it the withdrawl systems are bad. An comment i was reading gave an example of like there brain shaking. It went away in a couple of weeks but I don't like it.

Meds: Prednisone, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, CitalopramI've been through the SSRI discountinuation syndrome with Paxil, which many say is the worst offender because of its short half-life. Back then, the doc dismissed my symptoms as being all in my head; not too long after, there were a few lawsuits and they were forced to put a black-box warning on the SSRI's. Good news is, it's totally manageable. Gradual reduction in dosage over the course of a few weeks, or if that doesn't work, your doc can switch you to an SSRI with a long half-life, such as Prozac. The symptoms are much less severe when withdrawing from the longer half-life SSRI's. Talk to your pharmacist and/or your doctor about your concerns - they can definitely help.
