Enbrel and Latent TB | Arthritis Information

I was wondering if anyone else that has latent TB has been treated with INH and started Enbrel? How are you doing on it?

My concerns are activating the TB. Even though my Rheumy says once you start a few months on INH, I should be fine, It's one of those things that's too big for me in my opinion to risk. Just curious if others have been in this situation and what your thoughts are on starting Enbrel even after treating the INH.

My thoughts are, is the INH really killing the TB, do I have TB that is resistant to the INH (i've missed a few days).

I have read stories and clinical trials where even though they were treated, it still became active. Makes me want to not even start Enbrel.

As I understand it based on discussions with my doctor, once you get started on the INH you can start the Enbrel. Based on that practice, I assume they feel fairly comfortable that you won't activate TB as long as you've begun the INH.

But I haven't done any research to see if someone "fell through the cracks."

Hi! I started Enbrel and Isoniazid (positive TB test) on the same day. Nine weeks ago. I will be on Isoniazid for 9 months.
