Simponi | Arthritis Information

Good morning!!

I am finally getting to try a new med. My RA has been out of control for a while now and I'm excited to try something new. I've been on humira and MTX for a while but am switching to simponi. Is anyone else taking it? What reactions have you had? Would you recommend this med to me? Any other help/info would be appreciated as well.

Thank you for your time.

I tried Simponi and unfortunately it didn't work for me, but I would highly recommend trying it.  I had no adverse reactions, and it was a very simple self-injection once a month.  I didn't have any burning or site reactions like I had with Enbrel, and the injection itself was quicker.  Hope it works for you!

Hi Celena, I'm sorry that you have to switch biologics.....seems to be the RA trend.

I finally was able to start Simponi last weekend along with restarting MXT.  I took Simponi on Saturday and by Sunday I felt a little better and noticed that my hand inflammation was less and that they weren't as painful.  By Monday my shoulder pain was almost gone and my legs felt better.

This is day 5 and I'm about 35% better than I was 6 days ago!!  Far from perfect, but I'm hoping that with the MXT inj. on Sun. that next week will be even better.  My flare was fairly severe and I've been off all of my RA meds for about 7 months.  I have a long way to go to get this flare under control.

So far no side effects/complications.  The shot was simple and the med didn't hurt like Humira.

I hope that you get relief.  Keep us posted on how you're doing.  Take care.  Lindy
