Blood blisters ? | Arthritis Information

I seem to be getting blood blister type sores on my legs of late. It seems to be more so when I am either on my feet a lot or in a flare. I am not sure that this is RA or Lupus related and just wanted to know if anyone else gets these.

Bruises are usually assoc with RA, and rashes go with the Lupus...I dont know about blood spots though...I wonder if is r/t the Raynauds. I get reddish/purple dots. Haven't had them lately. Kinda figured it had something to do with the MTX.I have little red dots on my stomach alot. Mine are not raised above the skin like a blister, they are just flat small red dots about the size of a straight pin head.yeah, that sounds like what I get, Sharon. You take MTX?I have not been officially DX'd. I have been seeing doctors since 1995 and finally ended up in ER about 3 weeks ago, Luckly he knew about some of the signs and after I explained my symptoms he thought i needed to see a Rheumy again. Initally the Er doc said MS, which is just as bad. But I made the appt. and Doc put me on Celebrex samples. I have made up a list of all the times I've been to doc's with these problems, over 30 different ones, list of my symptons and am planning to tak it with me today. I jsut dont feel like the Celebrex is helping. Will soon find out.

They only seem to be appearing on my legs right now. It just seems very odd.

Seagoat you've seen 30 doctors over the last 11 years and you can't get a dx? I get the blood blisters in my mouth, usually on the roof or side. Don't get them too often and yes I'm on MTX.

Very interesting on the pi-sized red dots.

pinhead-sized red spots on the skin reflect the decrease in the concentration of platelets in the blood. hope this answers some question and may help with speaking to doctors about this, let them know.

I've noticed these pin-sized dots on my abdomen in recent years and could never find out what they were. I have had some problems with anemia though so the answer makes sense. I love it when it all makes some kind of sense! So much doesn't!
