Anyone start having teeth probs with all this osteo and pred an dRa stuff? I had one so rotted out that it had green stuff coming out...ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh so painful at the oral surgeon. NEarly 0 now I have to send my RD a check as well.....this is such an expensive disease I just wanna cry sometimes. Prob was the pulling of the molar was such a shock to my body I could barely move for 3 days.....pain pills would not work and I thought for sure I was gonna die from pain and shock......it was horrible.

Has anyone else had this experience? I mean my molars are begginning to rot from the inside out rather from the outside in............this scares me.

Thanks for any input,
JodeJode, I have not had any experiance or problems with my teeth. I know when I was pregnant my gums would bleed and they always said take care of your teeth. I was not aware RA causes teeth problems, that is such a bummer. Did they give you any reasons, like meds or is it just disease (RA) that causes your teeth issues. How painful that must all be...including the pain of $$$

Wish you the best, and hope you find a solution to this problem.
I too haven't had this problem and didn't even know it could go to that extent.  Ouch... I get gum sores and sensitive teeth.  I think the methotrexate causes that.  However, since I have been using peroxide for my mouth wash each night, those problems are all but gone.  I don't think it would help the major issues though.  I don't know.  I will be thinking about ya and I hope you are better really really soon. I am the only one? Sucha bummer. Well they say years of prednisone causes most of it, all the MTX didn;t help I am sure. I have always taken care of my teeth, dentist every 6 mos, 3 root canals, 2 pulled, braces when younger ect. I have to use 1/2 c peroxide with 1/2 c warm water and a dash of salt to rinse and then I have a syringe thingy for the extraction site. I do this for ..I forget, a good while. I will haev to look at the paper again. THe peroxide rinse is good for your mouth. Oh well just wanting to know if anyone else had any probs. Thanks so much!Owww, Jode!  I'm so sorry!  I've had more teeth problems since developing Sjogren's with the RA.  I work extra hard at brushing and flossing and rinsing and going for cleanings and check-ups (whew!) and still, I worry about loosing my teeth!   I really am glad you all have shared here.  I have dry mouth, and eyes, and I never even thought about it causing tooth problems.  I do know my teeth have been more sensitive.  Sensitivity does better if I stay with doing the peroxide.  I will do a little better on making sure my teeth stay clean now that I have read your posts.  Thank you.  I do go to the dentist every 6 months and have noticed, too, that it seems like I had been getting more plaque.  Of course, much better since the peroxide.  (only been doing peroxide for a few months).  Angain, thank you.  It helps explain some things.  I really hope you are all doing well today.
