Haven't heard much from those of you who have started Simponi.  Just wondering how you are doing and if the drug is working for you??  I'm currently on Orencia and doing pretty well, but would so much like to get away from having to go in for a monthly infusion.  Thanks!Unfortunately the Simponi didn't really do anything for me.  I was really hoping it was the one, cause a once-a-month self-injectable with no reactions would have been great.  Hopefully it's helping some of the others.Innerglow, Sorry to hear that the Simponi didn't help you.  If I remember right, you were on Orencia about the time I started.  What therapy are you on now?  It's amazing that we all have to be on one form or treatment or another.  It's a life-long process!  Thanks for responding -- all information helps.Hi Sharo, I'll inject my second Simponi injection this Saturday.  Too date I haven't seen much improvement.  I have a little less inflammation in my hands, shoulders and wrist.  I'm so hoping that I'll see much more improvement after my next injection.  LindyLindy....Even a little improvement is a good sign with, hopefully, more to come after the next injection.  Are you taking a DMARD along with the Simponi?  I don't do well with either Methotrexate or Arava and am currently taking 2 mg of Prednisone with the Orencia.  It seems to be working really well so far.  Added the Prednisone in mid-December.  My ARNP (who is the one I generally see) said in some cases, low-dose Prednisone can act as a DMARD.  I'm hoping this will be the case.  Thanks for responding.  --- SharonSharon, Pred. is classified as a DMARD.  I'm on 25mg. of MXT, low dose Pred. and Sulfasalazine.  They're all DMARDs.  I was off and on Humira, MXT, Sulfa. for the last year, more off than on them due to dental problems and sinusitus.   I was in a huge flare when I started Simp. and expect it to take somewhat longer to be effective.

At this stage of the game only clinical remission will satisfy me and if I don't achieve CR I'll go on to Orencia.  Take care.  Lindy
Sharon, yes I was on Orencia but didn't see enough improvement with it.  I just started Actemra last week, so we'll see how that goes.  BTW, mtx and Arava didn't work for me, but I've been on Imuran (without side effects) for a long time now.  If you become unhappy with the pred, you might consider asking your doctor about Imuran.
