I worked this evening and I had an episode that lasted about 4-5 hours where I was so sleepy I thought I wasnt gonna make it. I was so wiped out and cold...I never get cold at work but tonight I was freezing! I slept late to be sure I was rested but still, it was just so hard. I dont even want to think about the fact that I will be working two days in a row on fri. and sat. I can't imagine working with
this stuff although I have worked through a lot including the entire
time with Grave's Disease...that wasn't fun. Crunchy, I get cold when I am tired too. That's why I always go to bed with the electric blanket on, if I'm cold in bed I can't sleep as my feet and legs get fidgety. When I am warmed through then I can get to sleep. Evenings and nights you seem to feel the cold more too, I think. Maybe frequent hot chocolate and hot coffee would help warm you up and keep you alert? Hope you get lots of rest before the weekend and your shifts aren't too busy. Pam SWEET HART WHINE ON and I have some cheese for you! LOL
I have to agree with you on the tired thing. I get cold and REAL REAL grumpy. The constant pain doesn't help and work in a fast paced job doesn't help. I think we should take the suggestion of VT...Ben and Jerry's tasters would be a fine job for us...all the ice cream we could eat...YES We'd be full figured...but we'd be happy! LOLHi,
I'm trying for part time work next year. I have a very long and stressful job as a Special Ed teacher working with at risk Hispanic high school kids. I poop out by about lunch. It's so hard to work flat out when you aren't feeling well.
Really, a job that isn't as physically demanding is something you will
need to seriously consider soon. I know it is scary but also
having a better job routine, less stressful environment will
help.
I don't know about the rest of you, planning is so difficult because I
never know how I am going to feel. But if I know about things in
advance, then I try to 'rest up' for it so I'll have the energy.
With a work schedule that is more routine in its hours and perhaps
'flexible' in that you can take off half days things like that without
too much of a penalty, then perhaps working won't be quite as
bad. It'll still be bad but not as bad.
Frankly, I think we all should become ice cream tasters at Ben and Jerry's. Now there's a job!
When I get a flare up, all I want to do is rest and sleep. I find that this helps alot. I know it's tough but hang in there!
I am cold all of the time and I guess being tired and run down contributes to it (if you're not cold all of the time).
Please get enough rest before your back to back shifts!
Here's to tomorrow being a better day.
