It is good to be able to see what is happening with other folks with this RA thing, people I can relate to.  Does anyone know of a board that has men posting?  I sure would like to get the perspective of other men on this.  It seems kind of lonely out here

Since RA affects more women than men, i'm afraid that you'll find the predominate forums will be dominated by women. There are men on here Gutch.  Off hand I can think of Lev and Steven.  I know there are others, so perhaps others will come up with names.
Welcome Gutch!
Thanks, I will keep my eyes out for themI'm one of the lucky guys with RA...................RA sure, but we can't win the Lotto, what are the oddsGutch, I previously told you about Stephen, however his user name is Bodak.
We have some real nice guys on here.
Hi Gutch, Welcome to the forum....

One reason for there being more women than men has already been mentioned.
Another reason is that women simply talk more, they are willing to discuss what is on thier minds.
Us blokes tend to hold the more emotive subjects to them selves, which is not
necasaraly a good thing when it comes to major life changes that diseases like RA bring.

I've written a little about RA on my Blog and might give you a little insight into this bloke.

Links to a couple of articles:
This first link was promted by another bloke on this forum called Allan who is into music and poetry.
His sight can be reached via a link I have at http://stephenissell.wordpress.com/category/rheumatoid-arthritis/

If I can be of any assistance to you then by all means seek me out.

PS: 6t5frlane, never knew that you were a bloke.

Thanks for the contact Stephen.  Yea, I realize that many more women suffer from this disease then men.  It is to bad that it is so, it is a strange disease.  I feel very fortunate that I found a Dr that has given me great relief, just the right kind and amount of meds to do the job.  I was in pretty bad shape for about a year before I finally went to see him.  I had no idea what the heck it was, but as a man, I thought it would pass.  DUH!

I could not use my hands in the morning and as you know the pain sucked.  So I put up with it for many months, and then I saw the doc and within four days, no more swelling or pain.  It has been four months, so far so good. MTX 7 once/week and Predizone, I am off it now.

Also Stephen
