Hi Everyone,
I have severe OA in both hips, but am only on the waiting list to have one hip replaced. I was diagnosed last year and things have gone downhill fast. But at least I haven't had any colds or other upper respiratory viruses since I started hurting with OA.
OA has really disrupted my life. I was unable to do my previous job of body art manager at the Wild Animal Park (too much walking, standing, lifting, etc.) I am barely able to do my current job which involves 2-4 days of standing all day. I am still able to do my henna, but I can't set up the tent or haul stuff to festival sites, so I've pretty much given up doing festivals this year unless I have people who will do the tent thing for me.
I find I'm easily fatigued, but I also have trouble sleeping.
Fortunately, I live in a place with a benevolent climate -- just rains in the winter and now we're starting to warm up. And I'm grateful that our home is one-story and easy to get around.
So hello everyone!
