Sulfasalazine | Arthritis Information

I am really upset.  I started developing joint pain was referred to a RD and she put me on sulfasalazine.  I did not test positive for RA?  She really doesn't know what I have and neither do I.  I just know the joint pain is hard to live with.  Anyone else have the same issues?? Hi naynay. I started having joint pain when I was 2. For years I would go in to the doctor and they would tell me it was just growing pains. When I was 8, I was referred to a pediatric rheumatologist, and it took months to find out I have a type of seronegative arthritis (which basically means that I have arthritis, but the RA factor always comes back negative) . I also started out on sulfasalazine, but have been on many medications since then. I don't know how long you have been on the sulfasalazine, but sometimes it takes a couple weeks to kick in. If you don't think it is working, you might want to bring that up with the rheumatologist.
