Anybody experience breast pain with RA?
I've had nagging pain in both breasts for a long time now and when I went for a mammogram & US yesterday, the radiologist (female) said that although my breast tissue was normal, the pain and discomfort could be from the inflammatory nature of the disease. She also stated that women with RA can present with nodules
IN the breast which are painful.

Regards to all.

Edited to state that I'm 63yrs old with no "plumbing", so this is not hormonal shift pain.Katalina2010-05-21 17:10:34I get raynauds in my nipples.  It is incredibly painful.  Probably 6 times a year or so. Good luck.

Tell me about Raynauds affecting your nipples.  I'm asking because I'm having issues with both breasts and will have a mammo and halo exam next week with US if necessary.  You can PM me if you'd like.

Kat, I'm 64 y.o and know that the pain I'm having isn't hormone related.  The pains are very sharp, can hardly wait for a mammo....I'll have to take a pain pill before the exam.  Hope you soon get some relief.

I get inflammation in my breasts all the time and I finally figured it to be caused by my Fibromyalgia.  No fun.  SandyI do not know? I never had breast until I got RA. That is they were very small. My sister keeps asking me how I got breast? LOL

I thought maybe partly the medicine made my breast get bigger. Anyway what ever meds it may have been I do not take them now. That is I changed meds and the girls are still bigger.

Sometimes they hurt. I have no idea why. That is i do not get my time of the month anymore. So anyway strange side effect of RA I have bigger breast. I have no idea why? Maybe the swelling from my shoulders is over flowing into them?

I have had mamo and biopsy. Just had a small cyst once.
I have breast pain for years and never knew what caused it.  If I go for a mamo--it is awful--I see stars! Last time I had bruises all over my breast areas--not fun at all.  Then they had to do a sonogram just to be sure.  I also noticed I gained weight in my breasts--ugh--extra weight.  I guess it makes sense but I don't like it.
