skin discoloration at inj. site cimzia | Arthritis Information

I am on cimzia and had my 7th set of injections on thursday.  My neighbor, a great nurse, did them and they felt normal. The next day two very large white patches at the injection sites appeared -- this never happened before. It isn't bruised or swollen -- just big white blotches about 4" across where the injection was given.  Anyone else have experiences with this, and should I be concerned? Thanks,

Amy
Amy, call your doctor.  I've injected for years, including Cimzia, and never had large white blotches.  Some swelling and/or a bruise is common but I've never heard of what you're experiencing.  I don't believe Cimzia has nurses available to speak with, as the folks at Enbrel and Humira have.  My first Cimzia injections were a great source of anxiety and there was no answer when I called the number on their website.
I'll have to call before my next dose in case it is a problem. Weird. Amy, could you call your pharmacist?  I use a mail order company, but they have a specialty pharmacy for Cimzia and such.

I use Cimzia, but have not had the reaction you describe (yet!
