Hi to everyone,
I was diagnosed with RA and fibromyalgia in Jan.2003. My job consisted of intense CRT use so I had to go on disability in April of 03.I see my rheumatologist every 3-4 months so he can monitor my medicines. He has me on Enbrel injections, meth., arava, folic acid, nexium, lortab and the fentynl patch. He discontinued my prednisone and plaquinel a few months back. I have went from a very active person to one that has to plan out her day in order to be sure I can handle all of it. Believe me, I have not given up on things I just plan my schedule so that I don't overdo it. I would like to hear from people who have RA and how they function throughout the day and what they do to stay upbeat. I am looking forward to getting advice and also giving advice.
Hi Chris,
So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was just diagnosed (or so they think it's RA or Spondyloarthropathy) and am having a hard time adjusting too. I have gone from an extremely active person to one to just barely getting through the day. I function one day at a time and try to stay positive. I have some wonderful friends and my
Christian faith keeps me going. I also have a supportive husband and family. This certainly can overwhelm one, but just think how it was back in the old days:) before the meds! Perhaps they were better off.....
Take care, and blessings,
Jeanne
