RF Factor - Positive to Negative | Arthritis Information

Share

Hello all,

I've had joint pain for about 2 years and tested positive for the RF factor (33) in Feb 09'. My RD tested again last week and now the RF is normal (7). I've been on plaquenil only and am curious if anyone else has seen something similar. I have no redness, swelling, tenderness any any joint...just joint pain. (which could have been attributed to very low vitamin D which was treated and is now within normal range...am feeling better).

Thoughts?

Best
I was referred to a rheumatologist after complaining of pain and stiffness and also having a mildly inflated rheumatoid factor. My last blood test had my rheumatoid factor within the normal range. Since I also have psoriasis, the doctor thinks that I may have mild psoriatic arthritis or a mild rheumatoid arthritis condition. I wonder if the drug treatment can lower the rh factor? LOL I wonder if the stuff they use to test it is faulty. I got a negative RF facctor also. I guess I should be thrilled.

I am having a genually happy moment. Not because of the negative RF factor. Just well because why not?

I was really miserable a few hours ago and I am just about normal at the moment. A few places want to hurt but even the break through pain is mild. Rash sore throat sore toe, sore back sore fingers.

Some how I thought a negative RF factor would be more fun. LOL

So laugh out loud. Many days in the past when things were horrible I had to fight like crazy for some prednisone. Now with the allergies and the mystery rash they are throwing the stuff at me.

I certainly know I still have the Sjorgrens and the fibro gowing on. So call me sceptical. I wonder if allergy pills and singulair alter the test results any?

I was in a different part of the country the last two spring and summers so I did not take allergy meds except nasonex. I tested postitive on the last eight test. So I am only confused by the negative result.

Honestly I still have some swelling. It is not at it's worst and thankful for that. Enjoying my pred scince I have to take it. If you can not beat them join them sort of attitude. LOL

Also Sjorgrens never ever goes into remission. Just does not happen. So I except that I will have it until a new mirical cure comes to life.

I hope you are in remission. As well as it would be nice if I was also. I mean hey horray if I am in remision and sceptical, well I would still be in remission right?

Well I will take my pred get rid of the rash and infections and try to do a cartwheel. I will let you know how that goes. Only on day two of ten days on the pred so be patient. I will let you know.

I am still waiting on the anti- ccp test which I always get a high positive reading on. My C
reactive protien was very good also. So I guess I had some good surprises on my bloodwork. Still LOL I have some hurdels to get over.

I am getting ankle splints or something. Letting the pharmacist work on that one for now while I apply itch cream.
milly2010-05-26 01:00:35I have to wonder what the fluctuations mean?  Considering so many of us are RA neg.

I wish you all the best!
