Cellulitis | Arthritis Information

 

I was diagnosed with cellulitis last Thursday. My Kneecap became hot and swollen and walking became very painful. I had just started Remicaide the week before and was upset that this infection would take me off schedule. The doctor gave me Keflex 3 x a day and the next day it was worse so I went back to see him . He upped the Keflex to 4 x and here I am on Tuesday- better but the knee is still hot to the touch and noticeably I guess I should call him ..Just wanted to know about any of you all and infections you have had. Sorry to read that you have cellulitis.  I'm afraid I can't be much help.  I've never really had any problems with infections. I hope you start to feel better soon

 

ps...I would definately call the doctor.  Infections are nothing to fool around with!

I agree, I feel you should call the doctor. When in doubt call! A few years ago I came down with a horrible staph infection in my finger on my right hand, ended up waiting to long to go in to the doctor and by the time I went in they had to amputate the finger. I am so sick of having to see doctors all the time that when something goes wrong I tend to put it off, but I learned my lesson with the finger. Good luck to you, I hope you feel better soon. I called the doctor he is switching me to Doxycycline...I am keeping my fingers crossed
Angel...wow I am sorry that your infection became so bad!I am no help with this.  I just wanted to tell you that I hope that it gets better very quickly. :) sorry to hear about your cellulitis...

When you are on these bio meds.. you have to be very aggressive with infections.

I'd call the doc again..

Looks like all is well with my knee I go back for a re check tomorrow, still on antibiotics but the swelling and pain are almost gone! Thanks for your support!
