Hi everyone, I was a member of this board probably close to 10 years ago, I dwindled off after a few years and had to create a new login.

I was diagnosed with RA in 2001 at the age of 25.  I've been on a huge range of meds and had great success on Enbral.

I went off all meds in 2006 and had a great remission.  In 2007 I began plaquenil again as I felt myself coming out of remission and it was helpful, I went off of it in Feb 08 to get pregnant (I have 19 mo. old twin girls now).

After my pregnancy I started getting *that* feeling again and re-started plaquenil in Jan 09 and have been on it since.

In Feb of this year I went into a major flare.  I was terrified because I was flashing back to my past, being all but confined to bed, unable to basically care for myself etc, and I had babies now who needed me!  I called my RD in tears and he immediate put me on prednisone which cleared the flare and I was able to get off of it in about 2 weeks.

Last week I had an ankle ache, Friday it was my hips knees and ankles.  Saturday we took the girls to a theme park and that put me over the edge.  Sunday I started 10mg prednisone and then took 5mg today, I see my RD tomorrow AM.

I really want to go back on Enbral.  Its the time in my recent life that I remember having energy, no pain, no stiffness.  It worked so well for me for several years.  I wonder though if I need to "climb the med ladder again".   I am not willing to go on methotrexate and was on Imuran with bad side effects in the past.  Are there new drugs at this level?  Its been years and I am out of the loop!

I hope to get some support here again (this board saved me emotionally years ago) but also maybe provide some support to others :)

Getting back on embrel I think would be the way to go, it worked before so I see no reason for it not to work for you again. Thanks for the response, Im going to post a new post re: my doctor's appointment this AM....Mama Tique.
Welcome back;  I  too was on the orig. board for quite some years and yes, discovering it certainly helped me emotionally and was a good place, and still is, to learn more about RA and how to cope.  I've always said that I've learnt more from message boards than from the docs!

Hope your doc appt went well and that you can get on to some meds that help you.  You need to be as active as possible with those young'uns to look after
