Hi Im new to this forum. I have fybro and RA. Have been in a lot of pain since I was 35...15 yrs ago. Today I am waiting for a nurse to come to teach me the merits of enbrel. I am currently taking methotrexate and prednesone and acupuncture. I am really hoping for some relief from pain. I have 2 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. I live with my husband of 30 yrs.He is a great support.
I am basically fed up with living in all this pain. In canada here they dont seem to care about pain. All I have is tylenol 3s and they dont touch my pain. They just make me less whiny which makes everyone else happy. Im hoping to get some support and ideas from people on this forum.Cause if this enbrel doesnt help Im done done done. My aunt killed herself from being in the same condition as me and Im startin to think maybe she wasnt as nuts as we thought lol. Well thats all i got for now.
Thank you
MaggieWelcome !! Give the forum a shot. Lots of good advice on hereHi Saxlady...welcome!

I'm from Canada as well.  I've had no problem getting medication for pain.  Maybe you need to find a different doctor?  Have you told your doctor that what you are taking for pain doesn't work?
Good luck with enbrel..hope it works for you!
This does not sound right that you cannot get something that will make your life more comfortable.
I would be seeking further advice from your doctor or making an appointment to see another.
Hopefully the Embrel goes someway towards relieving your symptoms.
Maybe a referral to a pain clinic?thank you for all your replies. I did my first shot of enbrel yesterday and all went well so Im having high hopes on that account. Bonny a very good suggestion. I never thought of a pain clinic. I will ask my doctor about that . Thanks again saxlady,
Hope that Enbrel helps;  sometimes what  helps one patient is not much good for another.  Many of us have had the "Black Dog" visit us from time to time and a good doc or rheumy should be able to give you medication to help you thru the times of depression.  Being in constant severe pain is wearing.  Remember,  some meds now available were not around when your aunt first developed arthritis.  I  wish you all the best in your effort to get some pain relief and to battle this disease.
