loose ligaments | Arthritis Information

Since RA, I've been having problems with my ligaments being too loose/weak causing hyperextention in my fingers.  Has anyone had treatment for ligaments?

I've been told the ligaments loosen due to the chronic inflammation.  Anyone else have this problem?

I haven't had problems with my fingers but sometimes I get the feeling that my right shoulder is dislocating and I wonder if it's from loose/weak ligaments. If I grab my upper arm and push up, it feels better. This whole RA thing started in my shoulders and I was originally told it was impingement syndrome. I heard steroids cause ligament weakness but I don't know if that's true or not.I'm seeing an orthopede on Friday because I sometimes feel like my hips are going to pop out of alignment while standing still... they seem to shift and send shooting pain!! and feel like they are "coming out"   not sure if it's ligament issues or that I have destruction in those joints I feel that sensation in my knee.  Kind of like something is just sliding out of place.  It sends a terrible pain and then feels like it slides back in.  Not sure why, I know I have erosion in my knees, but the Rheumie never mentioned anything about ligaments. I had a total knee replacement in April, and when I went to see my ortho doc yesterday, I found out I have torn my MCL, and the only way to repair it is to take out my new knee prosthesis and put in a different type that will stabilize my knee. He told me that the RA drugs that I take cause weak ligaments...in addition to the inflammation.
