told me that if I get my expenses high enough in medical, I may qualify
for state insurance, but right now, I make too much money, which isn't
that much btw.
It would be worth it to save up as much as you can to maybe get going
on something and find a pharmaceutical discount. I found this

This is just horrible!! Good luck to the both of you. In the meantime, have you tried "Aleve" for your pain? It seems to help better than Tylenol or Advil for a lot of folks. Also using warm compresses may also help.
Cape, I also wanted to add, you should look on your state's board of
medical examiners site and find a local arthritis doctor. Just
start calling them in your area and ask what an initial visit would
be.
I called around and found someone that was affordable. I paid 187
for an office visit AND blood tests. (My mom's doctor would have
been 300 dollars just to walk in the door!) That left me in fear of the
money factor. I wish I had looked into it
sooner. I was expecting expensive x-rays, etc. But my
doctor is going to let me hold off on those expenses til I have some
relief and can be more productive at my job to earn more money. I
will also reapply for insurance during this time.
They give discounts very often if you pay cash. I got 20% off for
paying cash and she gave me a load of free samples of one of my
medications -- the more expensive ones.
If you find a good doctor, they will work with you. I was so
surprised at how well it went. I wish I had gone sooner, but I
had fantasized about it costing thousands of dollars.
I hope you find the relief you need. Get proactive and call
around and see who will take you. Just be forthright and ask for
exact prices. You would be surprised at how much easier it is
than you might imagine. Don't suffer for months like I did.
