Does pmr ever go away for good? | Arthritis Information

I hope this doesn't sound like a goofy question, but does anyone know if pmr will eventually go away for good? Can it happen? Short answer to your question Fressia, is YES.

I have met people who have become PMR free and stayed that way.

I have also met people who have had both PMR & GCA and it has gone away, both of them.

I have also met people who have been PMR free for some years and it came back.

PMR definately has a mind of its own.
Thank you, Mrs. UK. , I appreciate your response.
It's good to know that this condition can go away!!

As far as pmr having a mind of its own--I am experiencing that.  I had been zooming along on 10 mg of pred for about one month, doing so much better, in fact, feeling like Superwoman compared to before.  Then I don't know what happened--too much heavy carrying (bags of mulch, and they weren't that heavy)? Too much stress and activity last week? The wrong kinds of food?  Anyway, I woke up this a.m. with the old stiffness which didn't seem to want to go away until the afternoon.  Still not a total relapse so I am glad about that, but what is going on?

You could visit www.pmr-gca-northeast.org.uk

Lots of information, both medical and from patients on that site. Might help you a bit to find out 'what is going on', also patients stories on it as well.
Thanks, mrs. UK....that site is very helpful.
