Dented Chest???! | Arthritis Information

Okay I have a question that nobody might be able to answer, but here goes: I have a bad chest/lung infection at the moment and had to have a chest x-ray today. The doctor that checked the x-ray briefly (not the full report) said that there was a shadow but that it can be explained by a dent in the chest, which he reckons I have. I've never heard of this before and i've had loooots of chest x-rays.  I feel a bit worse today too so now I'm wondering if he was right...?

Anybody heard of this?

yes actually a good friend of mine has something to that affect and from what i know its nothing serious . but it could be different then what you are talking about

My daughter has  always had a bent in chest. I was really worried about it when she was younger. Not much has ever happened because of it although she is asthmatic during the spring and fall or if we go away to a warmer climate from a colder one.

It was just the way she was made. On occassion she also has trouble with coughing while eating but her throat is very tiny as well( and she loves to jam her mouth full of food at times! *teenagers!*) Unless it causes concern for your DR. try not to worry about it. If you have a tremendous amt. of pain or difficulty breathing I would just chalk it up to just having something else.......Nice huh?

I would point it out again to your Dr.when the results from yor xrays come back,  but try not to be alarmed about it.

DO YOU HAVE INFLAMMATION, PUFFINESS OR IS IT TENDER IN YOUR SPLEEN WITH THE CHEST/LUNG INFECTION YOU HAVE NOW?

IF SO YOU MAY WANT TO GET YOUR SPLEEN CHECKED, THEY CAN SHOW SHADOWS, AND RUPTURE CAUSING SEVER  & FATAL PROBLEMS.

GOOD LUCK

I am not sure if this is the same thing b/c I have had chest x-rays and cat scans and no one has ever mentioned it to me, but I have a sunken in chest. The breast bone is sunk in and I was born with it. When I was a kid it was real visible, now it is kind of hidden b/c of the boobs.

I'm sure the dent thing is nothing to worry about, I was just bothered they'd put it down to that when there might be infection too. But it's being looked at by the professionals now so I'm sure that won't happen.

Thanks again,

Moonie x
