funny spots on my spine | Arthritis Information

Yesterday in the fitting room at Victoria's Secret I noticed two large-ish brown/red marks (size of thumbnail) right on my spine, I think they feel a bit like burns.  Right now I am on sulfasalazine and have just finished cleansing out the Arava that was making my hair fall out in clumps.

I am on holiday and don't think this is worth phoning home to my Rheumy but wondered if anyone knows or has had this and can give me some insight to ease my mind?  Is it the Arava?  I could only do one day of the "flush out" to get rid of it b/c of other problems...

Thanks

Sorry hun, didnt want to leave you hanging here...but I really dont know what they are...just keep an eye on them. If they get worse follow up right away otherwise see your doc when you get home. Are you on prednisone too? I get all kinds of weird bruise like marks from it.Can't help you too much because I'm not on the same medicine.  Hope they go away. Linda Arava is realy not a good chioce. If you use Arava i sugest you go to see doctor and check your liver as soon as you can. and i strongly suggest you stop use Arava. Find yourself a good doctor. haishibushuohao38797.9525925926

I have similar spots on my face, arms, body, legs...ok just about everywhere but they are a bit smaller. After awhile, about a year or two they fall off and then you get a new one. When I was on Enbrel they went away.

Initially,  I was fearful they were some sort of cancer but I have had them checked by every one of my Dr.'s( including a Dermatologist) and they all say they are RA related. Oh joy huh?

I would not panic but I would make an appt. when you return home just to make sure. Enjoy your vacation!

Oh thanks you guys... my mind is a little more at ease until I get back home to Canada, land of free healthcare.  They are looking more like lesions, running straight along my spine and they are getting a little more sore and red.

The weather in Arizona is colder than it was on my last visit but still warmer than home so I have a little relief.  Last time I was here, I moved around like a little kid - it was pure joy!
