Tai Chi for balance problems | Arthritis Information

I run a support group and I hear a lot of stories about falling and balance issues. Because of that I now have a Tai Chi instructor come an lead the group in a Tai Chi each month. I have had lots off good feed back on how much better our group (120members) is doing and how much better their balance is. Sooooooo I want to recomend Tai chi do those who just need to stretch and get moving and for better balance. How do you find a group, luv2beme? I don't think there is one right
around here.Go to the arthritis foundation web site. www.arthritis.net and they will show you the group closest to you. If you don't have one close to you this is the best site for support.I tried Tai Chi.  I was such a klutz !  Hard to follow the steps.  If Tai Chi is not your thing, gentle yoga is slower and I think easier to follow.  Whatever exercise you choose - movement is good for us.  I wish we had a local support group.  Good for you luv.One quick question...Do patients with RA have balance problems too?  I fell about a month ago but never attributed that to RA.  I thought it was my post polio.  Would appreciate hearing from others who also have balance problems and RA.  Thanks!  Susan LeeThanks, luv2beme! I found the site & they have a Tai Chi program not too
far from me. It's not something I'd have found without your help! I've
been thinking Tai Chi might be good for me since I've had to give up
most other forms of exercise. Since this one is designed for us, they'll
probably understand when I can't do things! Tai Chi is a intellegent work. It need talent. It will make you smart and strong. And it is not a easy thing. It need hard working. If you are good at Tai Chi you maybe never fall. It is much more powful that you think. of cause i know you never see any this kind people. you can just download a video from internet and follow it. group is not essional. but remember use your brain all the time when you play Tai Chi. It is not boxing or gym. That is not civilization. personal i think it is stupid.  Tai Chi is something more powerful than what you know. one more thing Tai Chi need knowlege. you better do some paperwork before you do it. and if you learn from somone never let the teacher feel you like fighting. beacuse if so the teacher will never teach you anything good. as i said it is very powerful. you only learn it for brain and health. even not for selfdefence. because if you are good at Tai Chi you do not need selfdefence.

haishibushuohao38798.6805787037The book "A Cup of Tai Chi" is very easy to follow. It comes with its own CD. We use it in our group exercise. Its very good for beginners. Even a person on a walker or a wheelchair can do the exercises sitting down if they are unable to stand. depend on which kind goal you want to reach. anyone can do mathmatic. how high you can reach in mathmatic is a big different.
there is one thing it is not confirmed but it could be true the guy who created Tai Chi lived about 200 years age old. but he lived more than 100 years is positive and there are a lot evidence for it.
if you realy want to learn Tai Chi at least you need know what Tai Chi means.
Tai Chi is not only a name. and the picture of Tai Chi is not only a picture.

Yes patients with RA often have stiff toes and ankles making it more likely too fall. Painful hips and knees don't help either.

as my knowlege there are two major different RA. of cause there is only one kind of RA in english.
but for my view this two RA is totally different even it looks like same.
as i know this two different RA should treat totally different.
and soon you will find most chemical or bio drug FDA provide you will be banned one by one. Beacause they are real posion. of cause there are a lot FDA drug banned already.
