Knee pain-not sure what my problem is | Arthritis Information

I haven't injured myself so I am sure my pain is due to wear and tear of getting older - but I am not sure if there is a treatment or what do I have. I have extreme pain in my knees(one more than the other) going up the stairs. I can walk etc- it is just going up the stairs. If I turn my body sideways, it seems to help . It is in the front parts of the knee. Is that arthritis? or something and are there alternative methods or do I need surgery? I have already been taking glucosimine and msm due to a diagnosis of arthritis in my spine. If I am falling apart like this at 50- what will I be like at 70!

You may have damaged a ligament or just have degeneration of the knee.  I think you should see a doctor for it.  They can get x-rays or MRI and diagnose you better.

It might help now just to get some good shoes that stabilize your foot.  Heels put a lot of pressure on your knees.  Good luck.
