IM REALLY CONFUSED NOW. LAST WEEK I WENT TO THE RHEUMY FOR MY TEST RESULTS, NEGATIVE, HE TOLD ME I HAVE FIBRO AND TOLD ME TO STOP TAKING THE CELEBREX AND PUT ME ON MEDROL PAC FOR 6 DAYS. THE WHOLE TIME I WAS TAKING THE MEDROL PAC, I KEPT FEELING WORSE, MORE PAINS, BRAIN FOG BAD !! I MADE AN APPT YESTERDAY TO SEE MY INTERNIST TOLD HIM WHAT WAS GOING ON HE THINKS I HAVE RA OR MAYBE LUPUS BUT ALL LUPUS TESTS ARE NEG. MY  BLOOD TESTS ARE ALWAYS OUT OF RANGE. MY MY WBC, MONOS, LYMPHS, NEUTS, EOS ARE ALWAYS HIGH, SOMETIMES CRETININEAND SGOT. MY RBC, HCT, BASOS ALWAYS LOW, THESE SEEM TO BE JUMPING AROUND SOMETIMES THERE ARE SEVERAL ON ONE TEST HIGH AND OTHERS LOW THEN THE NEXT TIME THEY MAY BE IN RANGE AND OTHERS OUT OF WACK.

SO ANY WAY HE ADVISED ME THAT BECAUSE I HAVE HAS INFECTIOUS MONO, SERO POSITIVE EBV, THAT WHEN FATIGUED OR STRESSED I FLARE WHICH MAKES THE IM ACT UP, HE ALSO BELIEVES THAT I DO HAVE RA AND MAYBE OVERLAPPING ILLINESSES. HE PUT ME ON PREDS 20 MG DAILY FOR 1 WEEK, THEN 1/2 TAB NEXT WEEK. WHAT IS THIS GOING TO ACCOMPLISH? WILL THE PRED HELP WITH PAIN, SWELLING OR WHAT. JUST NEED SOME GOOD ADVISE AT WHAT IM DEALING WITH HERE. IM SO TIRED OF GETTING THE SHAFT BY DOCTORS, I WISH I COULD GET INTO A GOOD RHEUMY THAT KNOWS ABOUT SERO NEG.

IF ANYONE CLOSE TO MY AREA, JOPLIN, MISSOURI, KNOWS A GOOD RHEUMY TELL ME PLEASE... THANKS FOR THE HELP

seagoat6038798.8131018519The prednisone will help the pain & swelling - doesn't help RA, but it
should make you feel better. Also, if you respond to the prednisone, it's
an indicator as to what the swelling is. I have family in Joplin - they might
not know a rheumatologist, but they might - I'll ask. CELEBREX interaction. obiously you doctor didn't tell you everything.
i heard CELEBREX is banned maybe in your place is still not banned.
change doctor is right decision. maybe you need a full body check if you had a lot CELEBREX before. not only rheumy. haishibushuohao38798.8239467593

FIONA,

THANKS, IVE BEEN ON PRED BEFORE ALONG WITH MTX AND A MULTIPUL OF OTHER DRUGS, THE CELEBREX REALLY WAS MAKING ME FEEL BETTER WITH ONLY 1 WEEK OF TAKING, HOWEVER HE SAID FOR ME NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING ELSE EXCEPT ADVIL FOR PAIN HE WANTS TO CHECK THE PRED, BUT WHY WOULD HE DROP THE DOSE AFTER THE 1ST WEEK?

THE RHUEMY I SEEN WAS IN JOPLIN, AND IT WAS THE ONLY ONE I COULD GET INTO AFTER 3 MONTHS OF WAITING, ALL THE OTHERS WERE NOT EVEN TAKING NEW PATIENTS. WISH I KNEW ONE NEAR KANSAS CITY, MY DAUGHTER LIVES THERE AND I COULD STAY WITH HER AND LET HER DRIVE ME AROUND, THE STRESS OF DRIVING JUST CAUSES ME FLARES.

arizonara38798.8350462963just like i said your doctor don't separate RA. they treat all kind of RA in the same way. and the web too. i come here just want to prove am i right at this. is it only one kind of RA. or two kind.
if the bones shape is not bended INFLAMMATORY/ AUTOIMMUNE is not a big deal.
i guarantee you that.

THANKS ARIZONARA,

JUST LOOKED UP THE SITE, HEY THEY ALOT OF DOC'S NEAR KANSAS CITY WILL CALL AND CHECK WITH THOSE THAT HAVE KNOWLEDGE ON SERO NEG  BEFORE i JUST THROW AWAY MONEY AGAIN. ONE OF THEM ON THE LIST IS WHO I WENT TO, AFTER 3 MONTHS TRYING TO GET IN, THE OTHER ONE AT THE BTM IS SUPPOSED TO BE GREAT BUT HE IS NOT TAKING ANY NEW PATIENTS, MAYBE I CAN GET MY INTERNIST TO MAKE A REFERAL? WORTH A TRY IF HES GOOD. AGAIN THANKS FOR THE HELP.

The reason for the decrease after one week on the Prednisone maybe b/c 20mg is a little high and he doesnt want you on that dose for an extended period of time. You might want to call and ask his nurse to clarify the instructions to go from 20mg to 10mg in one drop.  I have been decreasing by 2.5 mg each week with mild side effects. I dont know if you would have worse effects with that kind of decrease.  Maybe 20 to 15 to 10...Maybe others out there have had some experiences they can share on the subject???

High doses can eat away at your bones, but 10mg or less are said to be ok.  It can be hard on the tummy so eat right and things like tagmet and prilosec are good for what it might do, i'm on those now, naproxen was taken with pred and i ended up with gastritis.

Anyway, it didn't do much for swelling, but did a ton for pain.

One doctor stated that under 30mg a day was still ok.  What it does is builds up the muscles as it is a steroid.

I haven't gained even one pound, and only lost up to 10lbs since on it for the past few months.  No facial hair (im a woman) etc. that can be a side effect.

I wish you well, god bless.
